Man of Steel – the Official Movie Novelization (Book Review)

The Man of Steel movie is now in theaters and with any big blockbuster release then we get to see all the extras with it as well. Man of Steel – the Official Movie Novelization was released a week after the premiere of the film and reiterates the tale in over 300 exciting pages. The book cover contains beautiful imagery from the movie and the back cover reads: A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers, and that he is not of this Earth. As he approaches adulthood, he journeys to discover where he came from, and what he was sent here to accomplish. But then the world faces an unimaginable threat--an invading force the likes of which has never been encountered before. When this occurs, the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation, and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

The intro provides the well-known story that we all know of Superman from the countless movies, comics and books over the last few decades. However, Greg Cox has managed to make the story his own in a breathtaking literary experience like none other. Greg Cox is a New York bestselling author known for such movie novelizations as Dark Knight Rises, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, and the first three Underworld movies. It is safe to say that Mr. Cox knows how to deliver a compelling and intriguing novelization of your favorite films and Man of Steel is no different.

Man of Steel is a story that enlivens the mythology of Superman that we all know with a visually breath taking approach. In Man of Steel, Krypton has died off and now Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van are sending their baby to Earth to protect him from the devastation. However, the book and film alike, concentrates on the struggles of Jor-El and terrorist General Zod who are trying to both save the planet in their own way. This beautiful story of the war-torn planet of Krypton is carried over several chapters, and we do not focus on Superman until quite a few chapters in. I particularly loved this inside look at the intricate planet and found it to be one of the most interesting reads of the entire book.

As the story unfolds, we find that a ship has landed in Kansas and miracles start to happen not shortly after. A curious reporter is noticing these supernatural changes in the town and starts to record the miraculous happenings. The author manages to tell the story in such a way that it seems fresh and keeps you hooked all the way to the end. Man of Steel – the Official Movie Novelization has managed to retell the story of a beloved, classic superhero with such prose and intricate detail that it feels like we are reading the story for the first time ever.

Man of Steel – the Official Movie Novelization  is encompassed with affirmations to comics, film and TV and beleaguered with the traditional lore loved by veteran fans. Man of Steel – the Official Movie Novelization is a great companion to the film and is a must-buy for any Superman fan. Man of Steel – the Official Movie Novelization is now available for purchase from most major retailers. Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
