DmC: Devil May Cry The Chronicles of Vergil (Comic Book Review)

Capcom and Ninja Theory released DmC: Devil May Cry on January 15th and now the series gets an official comic from Titan Comics. DmC: Devil May Cry The Chronicles of Vergil takes place a few months before the events of the video game DmC: Devil May Cry. Players finally get the crucial back-story of the twin brothers Dante and Vergil. The comic is the perfect tie-in for the video game and only enhances the game's story and characters.

We return to an Earth run by fierce demons who now disguise themselves as humans. These demons have managed to secure powerful positions within our society and are now putting out a new energy drink entitled "Vitality." Our female heroine Kat is in line to get a few of the drinks herself when demons fly out of nowhere followed by a dude wielding a powerful samurai weapon. Apparently Kat has experienced terrible nightmares, and the demon was able to track her through them. The dark knight tells her he can help her and proceeds to enter her dreams to destroy the demon.

Kat wakes up from the tragic event inside a jail cell where she is being held as an accomplice to the events. Kat meets Vergil in jail where he tells her about her psychic abilities and what her dreams really are. Vergil then asks Kat to help him save his brother Dante since she can travel between both worlds. The Devil May Cry series is known for jumping straight into the action and this is exactly what DmC: Devil May Cry The Chronicles of Vergil does. The high-action read manages to expand on the story of the game and maintains the same excitement you would expect while playing.

DmC: Devil May Cry The Chronicles of Vergil is beautifully illustrated story set in the DmC world that expands what you know from the game universe and takes you straight into the hellish chaos. The writer manages to keep the reader in anticipation of what is going to happen next all the way to the end of the comic. DmC fans are in for a treat with DmC: Devil May Cry The Chronicles of Vergil since they finally get to see how the brothers got where they are today. For those of you who haven't play the game, DmC: Devil May Cry The Chronicles of Vergil will raise your curiosity to check it out. The hard copy version of DmC: Devil May Cry The Chronicles of Vergil will be available of August 27th for $9.99. To learn more, visit the official Titan Comics website.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
