Model Spotlight: Katie Higdon Discusses Cosplaying, Her Favorite Comic Characters and More

Katie Higdon is a comic fan that loves X-Men and is currently located in Cleveland, Tennessee. In her spare time she enjoys modeling, dabbling in cosplay and planning future photoshoots. Katie started modeling for fun but hopes to one day turn it into a full-time career. We recently had the chance to chat with Katie and asked her a few questions about modeling, cosplay and her favorite characters from the gaming and comic book world. Read on to learn more.

AMANDA DYAR:
Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you got into modeling?

KATIE HIGDON: I got into modeling for fun. I met a photographer years ago and started building my port. I kept meeting some really cool models and photographers and thought maybe I could go somewhere in modeling. I continue to try to get a career in it because some people doubt me and it fuels my determination.

AMANDA DYAR: What draws you to modeling and why do you like doing it?

KATIE HIGDON: I like modeling because it is fun, you meet cool people, and it's kind of like cosplaying. You get to dress up and pretend to be someone else in front of the camera.

AMANDA DYAR: What are you favorite things to model? Is it clothing and costumes for specific games, shows or movies?

KATIE HIGDON: My favorite genre to model would have to be gothic. I have always liked that style. I have wanted to get into cosplay for games and anime, but usually cannot afford to buy a costume.

AMANDA DYAR: What is your favorite video game or comic character and why? Have you ever did any cosplay as these characters.

KATIE HIGDON: I have dressed as Harely Quinn for Halloween. I grew up watching Batman and other superheroes. I tend to like the villains though. One of my favorite video game characters I would love to cosplay as is Tiara from Soul Calibur. I love her style and split personality.

AMANDA DYAR: If you could cosplay as any character, what would it be and why?

KATIE HIGDON: That's a tough question. I have a list of characters I want to cosplay as.

Another one I would to cosplay as would be Blink from X-men. I recently started looking up things about her after I saw her in the recent X-men movie. Her power is awesome and love the outfit. I am a big X-men fan.

AMANDA DYAR: Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to talk about?

KATIE HIGDON: I don't have anything upcoming right now.
