Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's Zombies in Spaceland (Hands-On Impressions)

BioGamer Girl had the chance to go hands-on with Zombies in Spaceland at Call of Duty XP.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will release this November and bring an entirely new cooperative zombies mode to enjoy. Zombies in Spaceland will give players a fun flashback to the '80s with its action packed gameplay, storyline and four character archetypes.

The first thing I noticed when playing the new zombies mode was the beautifully vibrant environments. The new backdrop was the perfect battleground for taking on the undead while making your way across the space-themed amusement park. The colorful setting really gives zombies mode a more radiant atmosphere to progress through while collecting the various Easter eggs scoured across the map.

The storyline in Zombies in Spaceland is completely independent from Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's single player campaign. It features four aspiring actors who are auditioning at a mysterious and weird movie theater. The director Willard Wyler lures them there with the promise of making them the next big star in horror. However, there is an unexpected twist where the director plans to transform the players into his characters on screen and then transport them into the movie. While the ride looks bleak for the actors in the beginning, they will have some help from the DJ (voiced by David Hasselhoff) in escaping the horror movie that they find themselves trapped in.

There are four distinct ‘80s archetypes that players can choose which includes the nerd (voiced by Seth Green), the jock (voiced by Ike Barinholtz), the rapper (voiced by Jay Pharoah), and the valley girl (voiced by Sasheer Zamata). After choosing one of the four available characters, gamers will make their way across the theme park where they will battle zombies and try their hand at the many available attractions. You can earn rewards playing Polar Peak Roller Coaster or earn an extra life by playing Afterlife Arcade. The ability to play fun arcade games to bring your character back to life was a great addition to zombies mode and makes it even more replayable and entertaining. The weapons this time around are better than ever before. The Face Melter gun was a ton of fun and luring zombies in with the boom box and watching them dance before exploding was an exciting new mechanic.

In the end, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be a great game on its own but adding the new Zombies in Spaceland mode gives players an added incentive to pick up the title when it releases November 4th. To learn more, visit the official Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare website.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
