Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition (Video Game Review)

Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition is the newest game from publisher Alawar Entertainment. The exciting title tells a mysterious story of an archeologist named Amrite Stone who is working on one of her latest archeological dig sites one minute, and the next, she finds herself awakening from cryogenic stasis 150 years in the future after a terrible accident. Amrite is suffering from amnesia, and she finds that she is alone aboard a futuristic scientific installation in space. Amrite then sets off on an adventure to discover what has happened to herself and the missing crew members with a friendly cat companion along for the ride. Eternal Journey presents a promising storyline that contains a memorable ending with the bonus content of the Collector's Edition allowing you to further explore the game's wonderful ending.

Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition follows the game mechanics of similar Alawar hidden object games. You'll have to make your way through the game by solving puzzles found in hidden object scenes scattered throughout the game. Each scene will contain many hidden objects whether they are needed to solve the game's puzzles or not, but all must be found in order to progress. The game offers up hints that tell you where to go next or point out objects hidden in a scene, but you'll have to wait on the hint meter to recharge upon its use in order to receive another hint. It's a proven formula for Alawar games, and it perhaps works better in Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition than in previous titles.

The game makes vast improvements over other Alawar titles by offering up plenty of new enhancements, features, mini-games and more. In fact, there will be 35 different mini-games included in the game at no additional cost. Hidden object scenes have been enhanced to make finding hidden objects even more efficient than ever before. Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition is a huge game with plenty of hidden objects, puzzles and places to explore. The game also adds numerous animated cinematics, which while not being a completely new feature for an Alawar title, has never been utilized to this level to provide such fantastic storytelling.

Of course, Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition wouldn't be a special edition without plenty of bonus content added on to the main game. In addition to the bonus chapter that further elaborates on the main quest's ending, you'll also find plenty of beautiful concept art and stunning desktop wallpapers to gaze upon. A step-by-step walkthrough of the game is also included at no extra charge to assist you in completing the game when the hint meter just isn't enough.

Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition is yet another example of a hidden object title at its finest. The genre is stacked with plenty of great games from which to choose, but Eternal Journey: New Atlantis Collector's Edition manages to stand out for its rich, interesting storyline and major advancements in gameplay. You won't find a more addictive game around, and with the game selling at such a low price, this is a great deal that you can't pass up!
