Madden NFL 13 (Video Game Review)

It's that time of the year again. Summer is quickly fading into Autumn, fans everywhere are bringing out their old jerseys they haven't wore since last season, fantasy football drafts are happening everywhere, and yes, a new edition of Madden NFL 13 is about to be released to the world. Madden NFL 13 is set to be one of the best releases in recent years thanks to some vast improvements in the game's presentation, game modes and additional features.
Of course, everyone will want to get their hands on the new rookies coming into the league such as star quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, and other great athletes will be new to the game as well including Brown's running back Trent Richardson and Jaguar's wide receiver Justin Blackmon. The short of it is Madden NFL 13 is easily the best football game around and one of the best Madden games ever, and you should immediately run out and pick up a copy on August 28, 2012.

The first thing anyone will want to test out in Madden NFL 13 is the much talked about Infinity Engine. While there is no easy way to test the all new physics other than playing through a game of Madden NFL 13, you will soon realize the new feature is even better than the hype that has already been presented over the last few months. The Infinity Engine completely changes the way tackling looks and feels in the game, and as something that happens at the end of nearly every play, it makes Madden NFL 13 feel like a completely new game. One of the biggest complaints over the years have been that tackles in Madden NFL were basically scripted allowing you to tell if a player would go down right after impact. This is now gone and you'll rarely see a collision that looks similar to any other play. The Infinity Engine alone is enough of a reason to go out and purchase Madden NFL 13.

Madden NFL 13's presentation has been overhauled in numerous other ways as well. Enter into a game and you'll instantly notice the new loading screens for the game featuring the best players on either team showing off before the game begins similar to what you'd see before any game on Sunday morning. You'll also have a brand new announce team this year with CBS Sports' Jim Nantz and Phil Simms taking over the game's play by play commentary. The duo do a great job of reacting to plays on the field and help make you feel as though you're part of a real NFL game along with the all new stadium sounds you'll throughout the game as well. The game's graphics have once again improved this year, and may fans will be happy to know that the new NFL jerseys have made their way into the game to keep Madden NFL 13 as authentic as possible. Of course if you're playing the game on Xbox 360 with Kinect, you can enjoy great voice command features that allow you to call hot routes, audibles, make player substitutions and more with the sound of your voice. Madden NFL 13 really is better with Kinect.

Madden NFL 13 will truly change the way you play the game with plenty of new game modes including the all new Connected Careers. Connected Careers allow you to play an offline or online franchise with multiple users, play as a single player career, play a single coach's career and more. You can even switch between the different ways to play without ever starting a new Connected Careers should you get tired of your current job. Madden NFL 13 also features a revamped Madden Ultimate Team game mode that makes playing with your own ultimate team that can include NFL Legends more accessible than ever before. The mode still users player cards to add players to your team, and now, you can make multiple teams with the same cards and even complete unique challenges to earn even more renown.

It's easy to see that Madden NFL 13 is jam-packed with amazing new features that will make it one of the best and most innovative Madden titles ever released. Fans are in for a treat with Madden NFL 13, because it even allows you to take the game on the go with Madden Social for Facebook and mobile devices. This all new way to play the game will allow you to stay connected to the game like never before, essentially giving you two games in one. From the great new presentation to the incredible new features, Madden NFL 13 is raising the bar for future installments to the series and shows what a yearly release for any sports title should be. If you're a fan of the Madden series or just a fan of the game, do not hesitate to run out and purchase this game when it releases.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
