Top Video Game Cameos We Should Have Seen in 2012

On November 2, 2012, Disney's next big film, Wreck-It-Ralph hits theaters nationwide bringing with it plenty of video game cameos from the history of the gaming industry. We definitely can't wait to check out the film ourselves, but it also got us to thinking which cameos we would've like to have seen in the other animated films of 2012. While they may not all make complete sense or benefit the story's plot in any way, we think these would have been the most entertaining and should have at least brought us a few extra laughs to these highly popular films. Read on to hear our Top Video Game Cameos We Should Have Seen in 2012.

Richter Belmont: Beauty and the Beast 3D
Everybody has seen the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast by now, but it's unlikely to be one of your favorites unless you're a chick. With plenty of songs, mushy moments and romance, it's definitely the chick flick of Disney films and lacks very much action until the last minutes of the movie when the townsfolk decide to attack Beast's castle unnecessarily. However, sending in professional vampire hunter Richter Belmont could've produced a far more dramatic fight scene than the town's jock who doesn't even know how to read. In the end, Richter probably would've came out on top, ruined the ending of the movie and rescued Belle from the Beast, but we're guessing Marie and Annette wouldn't have approved of Richter hanging out with Belle instead of them.

Uroboros: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
"I can't believe they're making another Madagascar movie," was my reaction when I first heard about this one. The first two were bad enough, but it seems DreamWorks is trying to milk this franchise for all its worth. With another lame as Mondays plot, the least they could've done is spiced up the movie's storyline with a deadly viral outbreak. Place the Madagascar characters in the middle of Resident Evil 5's Uroboros outbreak with crazed cannibals, giant dogs whose heads split open and plenty of other baddies, and the film suddenly becomes a suspenseful survival horror film where everyone wins. The Madagascar series would have a nice ending, and fans can finally get off of Capcom's back for creating the Uroboros storyline after they see the good they brought to the world by taking out one of the most overrated franchises in the world.

Kratos: Rise of the Guardians
Rise of the Guardians is about the famous childhood legends coming together to fight an evil threat and keep the world safe for children everywhere. From the early trailers we've seen, it looks like a pretty awesome film, but DreamWorks forgot to add one legendary character to the cast of protagonists--the God of War! Adding Kratos to the mix surely would've added better action sequences, and we all know Kratos has a knack for making appearances outside of his own series. Maybe he was overlooked, because he's clearly not G rated material, or maybe because he's so awesome he would've overshadowed the films other stars. Still it's a shame we get a film all about legends with no sign of PlayStation's own legend to be nowhere in sight.

Juliet Starling: Wreck-It-Ralph
Sure, Wreck-It-Ralph is already full of cameos from characters, but it'd be nice to see Lollipop Chainsaw's Juliet Starling anywhere we possibly can. Disney seems to be missing the point a little with their title character. Ralph's definitely depressed, but maybe it's not being the bad guy that's making him so upset; maybe he's just tired of having to hang around with a little guy who constantly whips out his hammer and waves it around for everyone to see, and to top it off, he keeps having to look after a bunch of brats hanging around a building he was hired to demolish. What he could really use is a break from everything he's come to know as his life and Juliet is the perfect remedy for any guy needing to unwind. This sexy little cheerleader could teach Ralph all about the finer things in life and break him out of his funk with plenty of humor to boot. Who knows? Maybe Ralph and Juliet could become the next Mario and Peach of gaming as the next great video game couple.
