Spiderweb Software Turns 20 and Announces Upcoming Release of Avadon 2: The Corruption

Spiderweb Software has announced their 20th anniversary and details a full timeline of their releases since 1993. Spiderweb is set to release their twenty-first game very soon with Avadon 2: The Corruption coming Fall 2013 for Mac and PC.

From the Press Release
Happy Birthday to Spiderweb Software. After twenty years and twenty-one games, Spiderweb has shown that indie developers can have full, successful, lifelong careers. In 1993, Spiderweb began on their first game, Exile: Escape from the Pit. This epic tale focused heavily on plot and dialogue, setting the stage for twenty years of fantasy storytelling. The series would go on to win numerous awards and be remade twice over the years. See the entire calendar of releases at the Spiderweb Software timeline here.

The way games are developed has changed a lot over the years, but much stays the same. Spiderweb still uses graph paper and pencil to map out their games, they are still a mom-and-pop operation in their Seattle home, and the focus of their games is still deep, involving stories. Spiderweb still develops all their games for Mac and Windows, and they were very excited to expand into mobile in 2011 with Avadon: The Black Fortress. While devices, graphics, and character systems may change and improve, Spiderweb Software's commitment to excellent storytelling and complex worlds never will. In Fall of 2013, Spiderweb will be releasing their twenty-first game, Avadon 2: The Corruption.

This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...

Tucked along Main Street, this little diner doesn’t just serve food—it serves nostalgia. Walking in, you’re greeted with that small-town charm you just can’t fake.
