Pokémon X&Y is scheduled to arrive exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in October, and when the game releases, fans will have plenty of new features to experiment with and enjoy in the new release. The fist change players will notice is the most important decision that will be made in the new game. Rather than simply choosing between Chespin, Fennekin or Froakie as starter Pokémon, fans will also be given the option to take one of the three original starters from the Kanto region: Bulbasuar, Charmander and Squirtle.
The starter Pokémon will also have the ability to reach a new evolutionary step known as Mega Evolution in Pokémon X&Y. Trainers will need to equip a Mega Stone to their Pokémon and possess a Mega Ring that contains a powerful artifact known as a Key Stone in order for their Pokémon to Mega Evolve during combat. Not every Pokémon will be capable of a Mega Evolution, but Nintendo and Game Freak did announce that Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise (the fully evolved forms of Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squritle) will be able to reach this powerful new level.
The team behind Pokémon X&Y also announced the all new Pokémon Bank software that will be available exclusively for Nintendo 3DS and will work with another app known as the Poké Transporter to allow trainers to collect, share and trade their Pokémon from multiple copies of Pokémon X&Y, Pokémon Black & White and Pokémon Black 2 &White 2 online. The service will feature a massive storage capacity of 100 Boxes or up to 3,000 Pokémon. The software will charge an annual rate, but it will offer a free trial period as well with more details arriving on the official Pokémon website later this year with full details.
Finally, the Pokémon Direct event showcased the all new Pokémon X&Y themed systems that will be arriving in North America and Europe shortly before the game's official release date, so preorder your system and copy of Pokémon X&Y today and experience Mega Evolutions and all the new features the game has to offer this October!
Pokémon X&Y are now available for preorder from most major retailers for the MSRP of $39.99 and is scheduled to release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on October 12, 2013.
