Digitilus LLC Launches Kickstarter to Fund SKYJACKER

Digitilus LLC has announced the launch of a new Kickstarter for their combat simulator SKYJACKER. The crowdfunding campaign is hoping to raise $150,000 for the game's co-op multiplayer and mission creator system. Players who back the game will receive a slew of rewards which include a copy of the game and much more.

From the Press Release
Independent game developer Digitilus LLC today launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its first-person space combat simulator, SKYJACKER. Digitilus is looking to raise $150,000 USD in backing to be used for co-op multiplayer and a mission creator system. SKYJACKER, slated for release in the summer of 2014 for Windows PC, Linux and Mac, will be a single purchase download, and will offer intense space combat missions in an open world in which players control customizable starships as they hijack, destroy and loot enemy vessels.

SKYJACKER had previous success on Kickstarter, raising more than $30,000 for its Starship Constructor app, while also narrowly missing the goal for another Kickstarter campaign. Since then, more than 2,500 loyal backers have pledged money via Digitilus’ DigiStore for additional development of the space simulator that provides players with highly customizable spacecraft and intense dogfight battles.

“We started development of SKYJACKER because we noticed there was a lack of quality space combat games for fans of the genre, and as space exploration enthusiasts we wanted to change this,” said Eugene Zhukov, CEO of Digitilus. “Since introducing SKYJACKER to the community, we’ve received immense support from players and although we are committed to funding and completing the project ourselves, a successful Kickstarter will enable us to solidify the game and speed up the launch, providing galactic aficionados with all the features they want, much sooner than planned.”

SKYJACKER has a Kickstarter goal of $150,000 by November 22, which will be used to fund co-op multiplayer and Mission Constructor, a system that lets players create their own missions for anyone to play.

Those who back SKYJACKER will receive a copy of the game for PC, MAC and Linux as well as other notable rewards, including art books, bundle packs and even a chance to be in the game, based on the tier they back. SKYJACKER is a first person, open-world space simulator that offers intense combat through mercenary missions that have starship pilots hijack, destroy and loot enemy vessels. Players take control of one of the most ruthless pirates in the galaxy, Ael, as they fight against hostile alien races. In multiplayer, including co-op, players can select from one of several alien pirates and several gameplay modes. With SKYJACKER’s physics and extensive spaceship customization abilities, space-sim enthusiasts have the freedom to go beyond the stars like never before.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
