Augmented Reality Trading Card Game Drakerz-Confrontation Now on Kickstarter

The world's first augmented reality trading card game Drakerz-Confrontation has arrived on Kickstarter. The game comes from the French-based Peoleo Entertainment, and the company has announced the game is currently sitting at around 90% complete with an open beta available on the game's official website. The Kickstarter will allow fans to support the game and gain access to the game when it is ready, and the campaign will look to earn $30,000 over the next 30 days. Read on for more details.

Drakerz-Confrontation unlocks a new experience for players and card collectors, combining a trading card game and a free-to-play online PC game via a patented augmented reality engine. In the game, players -- or "Drakerz" -- collect physical premium cards that are shown to players' webcam to call legendary creatures known as Drakos to appear in an arena and fight virtually using augmented reality. Codes on the cards create animated sequences in players' webcam video. Point scoring and card cost is managed entirely by the computer, freeing the player to concentrate on combat.

"After building momentum through a successful launch last year in Europe, Drakerz-Confrontation is ready to expand its audience through a U.S. release," said Benoit Coupez, CEO of Peoleo Entertainment. "In order to broaden and enhance Drakerz-Confrontation, the funding from Kickstarter is crucial and we're optimistic about the support we'll receive from players."

Each card has a special effect from creating armor to casting spells. Players determine their strategy based on the cards they select.

For more information on the game, check out the official Drakerz-Confrontation website.

Jackson County Fair in Scottsboro, Alabama (Event Review)

The Jackson County Fair has invaded Scottsboro, Alabama for the week of October 7-11, 2014, but the event may be a waste of money for some.  The fair was the 79th annual showing and was presented by Kissel Entertainment. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun. The Jackson County Fair had over a dozen rides for all age groups. The fair's massive Ferris Wheel towered high in the sky and helped light up the event, while the Moby Dick ride and Gravitron also looked fearsome and stood tall even from a distance. Plenty of ...
