The Sims 4: City Living (Video Game Review)

EA has released the City Living Expansion Pack for Sims 4.

The Sims 4 allows gamers to create, control and rule their very own worlds. You have the ability to create your very own Sims who have unique personalities and appearances. If you have ever wanted to control life and its endless possibilities, then the Sims 4 is for you.

Over the last decade, EA has tried to take the Sims series to all new heights by making it more realistic with each new release. I remember playing The Sims Online back when my children were still babies and my daughter is now the diehard Sim fan of the family.

The Sims 4: City Living gives gamers a taste of life in the big city with beautiful bright new opportunities around every corner. The developers have put a lot of intricate detail into the gameplay in City Living which gives you extraordinarily new aspirations, traits and fashion objects. The cities in the game have been influenced from well-known ones from around the world with four districts to explore. Depending on your mood, you can hit up the Fashion District, Uptown, Arts Central, and Spice Market.

The expansion wants gamers to have the authentic city experience so its loud, smelly and full of nasty pests--like rats! You start out at the bottom--a small apartment with rude neighbors, angry landlords and unsanitary living conditions until you can work your way up into better digs. In order to climb the career ladder, you have to do good at your job and hopefully move into that luxurious penthouse. There are some cool options for waking up for work this time around which includes the option to not just go to work but also work from home or take a personal day! Somedays, you just can't make yourself roll out of bed!

When you explore the different parts of the city, it is amazing the amount of detail and authenticity that has went into each one. The festivals and events that take place include street vendors, music and beautiful decorations. You often find yourself wanting to explore the city around you because going back to your dingy apartment just isn't appealing at first. Walking around the Spice Market and experiencing all the tantalizing tastes reminded me a lot of Orlando's Epcot Center. It was frankly amazing!

The Sims 4: City Living also includes some fun new careers like Social Media and Critics. Hey, this is already touching close to home! Of course, I completely avoided the Political careers available, I have had enough of Trump and Clinton lately. I really enjoyed working in the Social Media field where I could work from home to gain new followers, take photos at the club or attend a convention. The critic career involves recommending local spots to your fellow city folk and if pretty fun as well.

If you get bored, there are several new activities to do in City Living that includes playing basketball, video games and learning new recipes from festivals. And of course, where would the Sims series be without fun new objects like canopy beds, curved TVs and many more inspired by Japanese and Indian culture.

In the end, The Sims 4: City Living is a fantastic release that is somehow more addictive then all the others in the series. City Living actually influences you to experience the culture of the city around you and to connect with others in extremely fun new ways. Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
