90 Days to a Healthier, Happier, Hotter YOU - Day Five: Skincare

Have you ever heard the saying that beauty’s only skin deep? That it’s what’s on the “inside” that really counts? While that may be true, our skin is the first layer of defense. Learn to take good care of your skin, so your skin can keep taking good care of you. In order to be healthy, you have to learn how to properly take care of your skin so it can take care of you!

Your skin protects your body in many ways so it's important that you protect it. The first step is to wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 and protective clothing when outside. You must also avoid smoking, tanning beds and stress, since both can prematurely age your skin causing acne, wrinkles and age spots.

Daily cleansing and even shaving can also take a toll on your skin. When you take a shower, use warm water instead of hot, to help maintain the oils in your skin. Use mild soaps instead of strong cleansers and moisturize twice daily. Developing a proper skin routine is crucial to becoming a healthier, happier, hotter, YOU!

If you want to build a simple skincare routine, then try out this 9-step skincare routine. Always start out simple and add to your routine. Your routine must match your individual needs and skin type, so it will vary for each individual. Start out by washing your face and applying moisturizer daily, then add on to that as you feel more comfortable.
