World War Z Unleashes Heavy Ordnance Update with New Perks, Mutators, and Skins

Saber Interactive has unleashed a new wave of firepower with the release of the World War Z “Heavy Ordnance” Update, available now as a free download across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. This latest content drop expands the arsenal and gameplay depth of the popular co-op zombie shooter, offering fresh ways to tackle the undead with new perks, mutators, and premium cosmetics.

The centerpiece of the Heavy Ordnance Update is the introduction of heavy weapon perks, giving players the ability to unlock three unique perks for each of the game’s eight heavy weapons, including fan favorites like the Chainsaw, Flamethrower, and Multi-shot Rocket Launcher. With 24 heavy weapon perks in total and 12 new standard weapon perks added alongside them, players will find a wealth of new tactical choices, risks, and rewards when customizing their loadouts. This system offers more ways than ever to experiment and adapt, whether you’re shredding through hordes with raw power or optimizing survival through smart trade-offs.

For those who thrive on the intensity of Challenge Horde Mode, six new mutators have been added to keep the chaos unpredictable. Players will now encounter rules like “Dead Pirate,” which lets zombies remain active briefly after headshots, or “Sharing is Caring,” which spreads medkit benefits across the entire team. Others, such as “Ouch!” that triggers random explosives when grabbed, or the “Arm Weakness” mutator that disables heavy weapons during waves, force players to rethink their strategies on the fly. Rounding out the set is “Slot Machine,” a permanent mutator that randomizes defense kit purchases, keeping every match fresh and unpredictable.

On the cosmetic front, Saber has introduced two premium weapon skin packs priced at $4.99 each. The Vibrant Halloween Weapon Skin Pack delivers colorful, spooky flair for a handful of weapons, including the Mini-21 Scout Rifle and the Forest Warrior Chainsaw. Meanwhile, the Raging Phoenix Weapon Skin Pack offers fiery designs for the Gal9 Compact SMG, Flamethrower, and more.

Powered by Saber’s Swarm Engine, World War Z continues to evolve as a premier co-op zombie experience. With full crossplay support, diverse global maps, and constant new content like the Heavy Ordnance Update, it’s clear this fight against the undead is far from over.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
