Randal's Monday (Video Game Preview)

Randal's Monday is an upcoming point-and-click adventure title from Nexus Game Studios and Daedalic Entertainment. The graphic adventure game features simplistic controls, humorous gameplay, and terrifically written characters and  storyline. Are you ready to start your adventure? Read on.

The game starts out at Clayton's Cave with an insightful narration of what is to come alongside a blunt introduction to our character Randal. Our main character is Randal Hicks, a sociopathic kleptomaniac, who only cares about himself--that is until a terrible curse causes him to relive the worst day of his life over and over again. The next character featured in the fun story is Randal's best-friend Matt Griffin and his fiancé Sally Thompson. Sally just wants Matt to smarten up and show her a little romance, but nothing is as unromantic as a cursed ring that your boyfriend got for a Dorito. There are many pop-culture throwbacks throughout the game like the Smigel "Lord of the Rings" moment that is utterly adorable.

Randal is a terrible friend that finds Matt's wallet and his engagement ring and then proceeds to sell it. The action triggers a terrible curse that causes Matt to commit suicide, and then Randal is tortured with reliving the worst day of his life over and over. The player must stop the curse by finding the ring he sold or the universe will eventually collapse.

Randal's Monday is full of dark humor and cryptic undertones that ultimately creates an intriguing atmosphere for gameplay. The point-and-click adventure has players gathering items from around their environments to solve puzzles and further progress through the game.

In the end, Randal's Monday is shaping up to be an exciting new title that will have a ton of potential when it fully releases later this year thanks to its incredible voice acting and intriguing storyline. There is a ton to do in Randal's Monday with over seven chapters and forty different environments of gameplay full of subtle geek culture. The fun storyline will have players laughing out loud throughout the entire game with over 50 unique characters to interact with. We can't wait until the game's official release, and think it is a must-buy for gamer's holiday list this year. Randal's Monday will change the way you view point-and-click games with an incredible adventure to top all others.
