Diamond GameCaster GC2000 (Video Game Accessory Review)

One of the most important things for any gamer, aside from playing the latest games, is to capture those amazing gameplay moments in great quality. While programs like FRAPS do the job quite nicely, the reality is that they also hamper the game experience and this is why finding a reliable game capture/streaming device is a very good idea.

GameCaster GC2000 is one of the latest devices released in the game streaming/capture category and it manages to offer you quite a lot of amazing features for a great price. One of the main things that you can do with this tool is to perform in-home streaming from Ethernet to your router, all so that you can share your gameplay moments in real time with other devices in your network.

The design of this device is very simple and you can access each audio/video port without a problem. The 1080p support is very good as well, and the quality is maintained throughout the entire capture or streaming experience, which is a major plus!

A major feature for the GameCaster GC2000 is definitely the Loop-Through that allows you to play, record and stream at the same time with no performance issues to be encountered as you do so. This feature works amazingly well in real life and it does allow you to further improve the way you stream.

I found the device to be compatible with Twitch streaming as well, and it’s also recognizing a variety of consoles too (Xbox360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii, PC, Android & iOS), which means that regardless of the streaming medium you want to use or the device you are streaming from, you will have no problem when it comes to streaming with the utmost details. Your gameplay recordings can then be edited and shared to popular social networks like YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch, with the ability to stream with real-time voice commentary.

While being able to stream directly to your smartphone, tablet or Ustream/Twitch is a very good idea to begin with, the reality is that what stands out for this device is the ease of use and added extras. You have an amazing voice commentary option that you can use when you capture or edit video, something that delivers an amazing experience all around, and when you combine that with the video pass-through support, you will see how useful this device can actually be.

There is no lag involved, regardless of how much time you want to spend streaming and I found the GameCaster GC2000 to work really well even on lower spec computers, so it’s not really a demanding device as well. There are no lag issues and that’s extraordinary when we talk about the latest games, as it’s quite hard to record or stream them using traditional methods without having to deal with any problems.

Price-wise, the GameCaster GC2000 HD 1080P Game Capture is quite inexpensive considering the other devices in its line. At around $129, it does deliver a great return on investment and at the same time it does support most gaming devices. An interesting thing to note is that the customer service offered by Diamond Multimedia, the manufacturer, is exemplary and it just makes the entire experience well worth it. Just try and give this amazing tool a shot, it will definitely boost your streaming and game capture experience!
