PAC-MAN 256 (Video Game Review)

Bandai Namco has released PAC-MAN 256 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

PAC-MAN 256 has made its way from mobile devices to consoles and PC for the low price of $4.99. PAC-MAN 256 released last year on iOS and Android devices which introduced gamers to a whole new era of endless maze excitement. This new introduction of the epic mascot includes a new kill screen that haunts players throughout each level adding an entirely new level of anxiety and fun.

PAC-MAN 256 takes our beloved PAC-MAN and pits him up against an array of new challenges and enemies while forcing him to consume all the Pac Dots, fruit, and power-ups that his little tummy can handle. Gamers are introduced to an all-new four-player mode where they must battle the endless glitch to achieve an all-time high score.

PAC-MAN 256
is developed by Hipster Whale bring a new terror for PAC-MAN to face--the dreaded Glitch. This idea for the Glitch was inspired from the unbeatable 256th level found in the original PAC-MAN arcade game and is now being brought back to terrorize players on consoles and PC.

One thing that all gamers hate in their games are glitches. They not only hinder the immersion of the game as a whole but ultimately are just downright frustrating and annoying. In PAC-MAN 256 the Glitch relentlessly chases our yellow dot-muncher, PAC-MAN, throughout the entire game while destroying everything in its path.

The aspect that I loved best about PAC-MAN 256 is that you are not constrained to one small level where you must eat every dot to advance. Instead, you are tasked with outlasting the Glitch in an endless maze-runner that has you consuming the iconic PAC-MAN ghosts, Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde to gain the highest score on the leaderboards.

PAC-MAN 256 has been cleverly designed to be played in short bursts of time where you are forced to develop a smart strategy to survive and gain points. The ghosts this time around are just a tad bit smarter and their new patterns and movements will have you thinking twice before running to gobble them down. While the gameplay is very similar to the original PAC-MAN, gamers this time have a slew of new power-ups and abilities to keep them entertained. PAC-MAN can literally become a bomb that blows up everything in his path or even shoot lasers from his mouth. If things get too hectic for your own liking, you can even escape the board with the exits found along the way.

In the end, PAC-MAN 256 is a fantastically entertaining game that anyone die-hard arcade fan will love. Gamers not only get to relive some of the classic gameplay from their earlier days of gaming but also get some entertainingly modern touches to keep them playing for hours on end. Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
