The new narrative-drive title, Pathologic 2, brings its survival thriller plotline to PC. The game takes place in an eerie town that has been consumed by an awful plague. Players are forced to make some of the most difficult decisions throughout the course of the game, and you soon realize that you can't save everyone. You have to try to become close with the citizens that inhabit this decimated town in order to gain precious allies. However, if you plan to make the journey alone, you will have a difficult road ahead.
Pathologic 2 has a very compelling storyline that manages to draw you in from the very beginning. The town is slowly turning to hell and you only have 12 days to save it. In a world controlled by bizarre rules, you have to form a strategy on how to survive. As you start to make allies, you realize some inhabitants are hiding something and it is up to you to figure out what. In this time based game, every minute is crucial, and you have to make the most of your time.
The game tries to keep it realistic by having each player not only have a deadline, but also be forced to take care of their character's own bodily functions in the process. Your character has to survive on their own--tending to their hunger, thirst and exhaustion. So you not only have to stay alive by taking care of your character's health, but also fight a deadly, unstoppable force (the plague) that you have no cure for. You have to do whatever it takes to survive which forces you to loot, barter, beg and even murder.
In the end, Pathologic 2 forces you to come to terms with the darkest parts of yourself. What would you do in that type of situation? How far would you go to survive? By the end of the game, you may find that we are all plagued with some inner dark turmoil that we are to scared to face.
