Most of us will never know the true horrors of war and Veteran's Day is when we get the chance to honor our armed service veterans. We have a list of several video games that you can check out this Veteran's Day to give you first hand experience of what war is all about. 5. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
This first-person shooter puts players into the character role of Sergeant Matt Baker in the later stages of World War II. Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway was released in 2008 but is one video game that can give players a real idea of what war is really like. The new feature of Hell's Highway was the implementation of the action cam which would zoom in on all the action while it took place. The video game gives a true depiction of World War II and the horrors that came with it.

4. Battlefield 3
Another first person shooter that released in 2011, Battlefield 3 gave players the chance to take on the roles of several military personnel. Some of the roles included a Force Recon Marine, tank operator and a weapon systems operator. This gives player the chance to experience the different types of roles of military personnel and all the operations that take place during times of war.

3. Gears of War 3
Gears of War 3 was called one of the best games of 2011 and for good reason. Gears of War 3 is a 3rd person shooter that focused on using cover and squad tactics in order to survive combat situations. An important part of surviving war is the ability to properly utilize cover and squad tactics which is Gears of War 3's main objective. Players have to stay out of the line of fire in order to not become downed or killed.

2. Spec Ops: The Line
2K Games released Spec Ops: The Line in the summer of 2012 and it follows Captain Martin Walker during a post-catastrophe Dubai. The game has players taking on a reconnaissance mission with the elite Delta Force as they explore what happened preceding the months after Dubai. Spec Ops: The Line shows the true complexities and hardships that come with war and destruction.

1. Medal of Honor: Warfighter
EA's Medal of Honor: Warfighter released on October 23, 2012. The game continues where the last title left off and has Preacher returning to his home to only find that his family has been torn apart from his years of deployment. The video game utilizes over six different classes and encourages players to work together with its fire team system. The title starts in Pakistan where Preacher and the rest of his team of U.S. Navy SEALS are sabotaging a black market deal by the Al-Qaeda. Medal of Honor: Warfighter shows the ins and out of solider life which not only involves what takes place on the job but also what toll it takes on the family structure. Medal of Honor: Warfighter also paid tribute to fallen veterans by making them NPC characters in the game. The game also came in Limited Military Edition with the initiative of Project Honor that honored fallen vets and their families. The licensed content was sold with the sales from the exclusive Medal of Honor branded items benefiting the Navy Seal Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
