Composer Jeff Broadbent Takes Home Award for Best Original Video Game Score for PlanetSide 2

Multimedia composer Jeff Broadbent has received the 2013 Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) for the "Best Original Video Game Score" for his original music on PlanetSide 2. The HMMA recognizes the music of exceptional artists and took place on November 21st at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood. Read on.

Rising star multimedia composer Jeff Broadbent has been awarded the 2013 Hollywood Music In Media Award for 'Best Original Video Game Score' for his original music to the ground breaking Massively Multiplayer Online First-Person Shooter, PlanetSide®2 (Sony Online Entertainment).


The Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) recognize and honor the music of visual media including film, television and video games, as well as the music of artists from around the globe. The awards ceremony was held on November 21 at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.

Jeff Broadbent is a Hollywood Music in Media Award and Global Music Award winning composer whose passion for music and sound has found expression with video games such as PlanetSide 2, LEGO Legends of CHIMA Online, TRANSFORMERS: Dark of the Moon, and I Am Alive. Broadbent's classical training with the orchestra (Master's in Composition) and film scoring (UCLA program) combined with technical expertise and cutting-edge technology allow him to compose with cinematic quality for a variety of diverse genres. In addition to scoring video games, Broadbent's music features on primetime television networks such as CBS, MSNBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic and VH1. His latest projects include the hybrid trailer music album, "Enemy Below" released on Position Music (with music appearing in an upcoming Jack Ryan film trailer) as well as scores for the upcoming video games, Tom Clancy's EndWar Online and EA's Dawngate. Jackson County Fair in Scottsboro, Alabama (Event Review)

The Jackson County Fair has invaded Scottsboro, Alabama for the week of October 7-11, 2014, but the event may be a waste of money for some.  The fair was the 79th annual showing and was presented by Kissel Entertainment. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun. The Jackson County Fair had over a dozen rides for all age groups.
