The Banner Saga Coming To PC and Mac on January 14

Stoic has announced a new partnership with Versus Evil to launch the upcoming game The Banner Saga. The RPG game will put players into the role of a Viking where they must journey across harsh conditions which can result of the growth or demise of an entire civilization. Read on to learn more.

From the Press Release

Stoic, an Austin-based independent game development company, today announced their partnership with Versus Evil to promote and launch their upcoming title The Banner Saga. The game, which was successfully funded through a Kickstarter campaign last year, is an epic role-playing Viking saga where a player’s choice directly affects their personal journey across a stunning yet harsh landscape and, ultimately, the survival of an entire civilization.

“Our partnership with Versus Evil is a great fit for our independent studio – their team understands what we are creating and is passionate about supporting our game," said John Watson of Stoic. “This decision has given us back valuable time so we can polish the game while they support us with marketing, PR and QA.”

“Our core goal as a company is to help make independent game studios successful and preserve their independence,” said General Manager Steve Escalante. “The Stoic team took huge risks to create this exquisite game and they were rewarded with a tremendous fan base with their successful Kickstarter. We are proud to be a part of the launch of The Banner Saga.”

The Banner Saga will release on January 14, 2014 for PC and Mac.

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
