Jinx (Clothing Line Review)

Jinx is a clothing line that originated from modest beginnings way back in 1999 in San Diego, California when a couple of web developers and all around geeks wanted to create a clothing company for video game and hacker culture apparel. Fast forward 15 years later, and Jinx is easily the most recognizable brand of video game and nerdy apparel available anywhere. Sean Gailey and Tim Norris' company is loved by gamers, and the company has worked with many of the biggest named in the business including Blizzard Entertainment for their World of Warcraft Starcraft and Diablo clothing lines, Mojang for Minecraft inspired clothing and accessories and Activision for the acclaimed Call of Duty franchise clothing. Jinx has even been featured in movies on the big screen in the cult classic success Grandma's Boy. The company is well traveled and creates some very high quality goods, and if you don't already own a few items from Jinx in your closet right now, you should probably get to work on that.

Jinx likely carries the largest amount of video game apparel and accessories of any company in the world. In addition to the brands mentioned above, gamers can find plenty of great gear from video game series such as Battlefield, Dota 2, Portal 2, League of Legends, Titanfall, World of Tanks and more. Fans will also find some cool meme themed gear from the official Jinx line of clothing and other nice geekery from The Walking Dead franchise, The Lord of the Rings franchise and Felecia Day's The Guild. The clothing includes everything from t-shirts and jackets to socks and underwear, and the site also offers some pretty cool accessories including some of our favorite Minecraft equipment, a Half Life 2 Headcrab Plush and a really neat looking League of Legends Tibbers pillow. While we weren't able to get our hands on all of this gear, we can definitely vouch for the high quality clothing the company produces and ships to gamers around the world.

Jinx allowed us to get our hands on some really great shirts from their large clothing line. The Classically Trained t-shirt allows old school gamers to show off their heritage with an awesome logo featuring an arcade cabinet proudly on display in the front of the shirt. The Outline t-shirt features another great logo from Jinx's own line of clothing that allows gamers to proudly show off their geekdom. Both shirts are available in multiple sizes and are available for men and women. We were also able to try out a couple of new items from the store that included the World of Tanks Spray Logo and the Diablo III No One Can Stop Death shirt from the upcoming Diablo III: Reaper of Souls expansion releasing later this month. Each of the different shirts were very comfortable to wear, and the logos seem built to last with no chips or fades to report even after several washes. The one problem we found with the shirts was that each seemed to have slightly different measurements that would make one shirt fit comfortably and another fit too tight around the chest despite being labeled the same size. These clothes are high quality though and should last gamers through numerous conventions and long gaming sessions with no showers or bathroom breaks.

It's clear for most gamers and geeks out there that Jinx is one of the best clothing companies around, but many fans would be surprised to know about all the offerings the site offers the community. In addition to some great customer service policies, shipping options and sales that fans should continue visiting the site for, fans can also create their own logos and art to be built and used on the site or vote on other member's creations. This is known as the Design Arcade and winning submissions can actually earn the original artist up to $1000 prize. Fans can also head over to Jinx's Community page to submit pictures wearing their new gear, read gaming related news or meet and talk with other fans of the site online. One other great feature of the site allows members to create profiles and earn Jinx Gold, used to purchase additional items from the Jinx online store, and Jinx EXP, which will allow customers to level up and unlock new rewards with every purchase. The system is explained in the Jinx FAQ section, and it's definitely a cool way to give back to loyal customers of the company. If you're a gamer or fan of nerd culture, you've got to check out Jinx today!

Jinx clothing is now available for purchase online and is available to ship worldwide. For more information or to purchase some great geek and video game clothing and accessories like are mentioned above, check out the official Jinx website.

Jackson County Fair in Scottsboro, Alabama (Event Review)

The Jackson County Fair has invaded Scottsboro, Alabama for the week of October 7-11, 2014, but the event may be a waste of money for some.  The fair was the 79th annual showing and was presented by Kissel Entertainment. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun. The Jackson County Fair had over a dozen rides for all age groups. The fair's massive Ferris Wheel towered high in the sky and helped light up the event, while the Moby Dick ride and Gravitron also looked fearsome and stood tall even from a distance. Plenty of ...
