In Between (Video Game Review)

Gentlymad and Headup Games have released In Between for Xbox One.

In Between
is an award-winning platformer with exquisite puzzles to solve alongside an amazing story. In Between puts you into the mind of our protagonist who has just learned he has cancer. As he tries to come to grips with his own morality, you take an incredible journey through his past, in a world outside the laws of physics.

In Between has 60 challenging levels to venture through with each one challenging your patience and wits. Every stage has a certain theme following the various stages of grief, the player is tasked with completing the complex puzzles while trying to come to grips with his inevitable fate.

In every stage, you are tasked with completing a certain number of levels in order to progress. This means you are able to view all of the various levels in each new stage and skip some of those that may be too difficult for you to master. The fact that In Between has included this option in gameplay creates more replayability since you can still progress even if there is just one level that you can't get past.

When playing a puzzle platformer, gamers can often get stuck and with no real story to keep them going, they simply just get so frustrated that they end up quitting. This is where In Between is different than any other puzzle platformer out there--the story and the hand painted world make you care about the character and what happens to him. No matter how frustrating the game can get, you keep on trying, because you ultimately want to know how the story ends.

The music and voice acting is superb and this alone creates an immersive world that you can't help but become emotionally attached to. Within minutes of playing In Between, I was intensely drawn to the protagonist’s touching story, because it was so relatable.

In Between features a very unique control scheme that has your character defying the laws of gravity and progressing throughout the levels in an incredibly fun manner. Everything featured throughout the game has a deeper meaning, In Between can ultimately have some psychological impact on those playing it, which is really uncommon for most games today.

Overall, In Between is a fun puzzle platformer that can leave a long-lasting impression on anyone that decides to venture within its immersive world. In Between offers a unique gameplay experience with its beautifully designed visuals, fantastic soundtrack and creative control scheme. Experience a puzzle platformer like never before with In Between on Xbox One. To learn more, visit the official In Between website.

Letter Lost: Postmarked Secrets - A cozy post office that hides rules and a deeper mystery. (Demo Preview)

Letter Lost drops you into the Kharnym Isle Post Office as its sole employee, tasked with the deceptively simple work of stamping, sorting, and dispatching the island’s mail. On the surface it’s a cozy workplace sim; polite locals, daily pay, and mandatory room and board that removes the hassle of commuting, but the office’s cheery routine is threaded with odd rules and quiet contradictions that quickly make the ordinary feel off‑kilter. What begins as a satisfying loop of weighing parcels and matching stamps soon becomes a game of attention: letters hide hints, patrons’ small talk slips into unsettling confessions, and management’s insistence that you never leave the premises reads less like policy and more like a warning. The demo covers your first four days on the job, teaching the systems while nudging you toward choices, obey protocol and keep the peace, or pry at the seams and uncover the post office’s darker purpose. Either way, those first shifts are a careful, uncanny invitat...

550 Geese Killed at the Request of an HOA — And the Question We Can’t Ignore

In Madison, Alabama, more than 550 geese were captured and killed in a single coordinated operation carried out by USDA Wildlife Services at the request of a homeowners association. What was described as a “population control effort” has ignited a deeper and far more uncomfortable conversation: When did wildlife become something we simply remove when it becomes inconvenient? According to reports from the Heritage Plantation HOA, the geese population had grown to levels they claimed were “five times” what was considered sustainable for the area. The association said it had spent years attempting non-lethal methods, including deterrents and egg management strategies, before ultimately requesting a full-scale cull approved under federal wildlife guidelines. Nine USDA agents carried out the operation. Within a single night, hundreds of birds that had been living, nesting, and raising young in the community were gone. The HOA cited concerns about sanitation, water quality, and public health...
