Avadon 3: The Warborn Review

Spiderweb Software has released Avadon 3: The Warborn for PC.

Spiderweb Software's latest title is a beautiful retro role-playing game that takes you on an epic adventure through a world full of curiosities. Gamers step into the role of the Hand of Avadon and your word is the law. Your character has a wide array of skills and is a warrior, spy, judge and executioner.

The Hand of Avadon has to stop the barbarians and monsters that have invaded his homeland and concludes the gameplay of the previous Avadon titles. Players have five different character classes to choose from before they head out to explore dungeons and collect magical artifacts. You have the ability to test out fun abilities and spells before passing judgment on your enemies.

When it comes to visuals and audio, Avadon 3 is fairly decent but nothing that is overly impressive. The storyline is rather compact and doesn't do a lot for the overall gameplay. The role-playing mechanics consist of your traditional elements, such as Strength and Dexterity that most hardcore RPG fans are used to seeing in titles such as this. You will use your mouse to click around the map in order to explore and when you near an enemy then your party enters combat mode. The moves used by your party will depend on the location that they were placed into your party roster which can be altered when you are not in combat.

Avadon 3: The Warborn does feature some fantastic writing on the side quests it offers and the ability to get different endings does add some replayability to the game. Gamers have the ability to help or betray the people of the land alongside the ability to just follow orders or try to rise to the top. There are a wide array of secrets to uncover throughout the open world where you can leave no dungeon uncovered.

In the end, Avadon 3: The Warborn isn't the best looking title on the RPG market but it does have a lot of replay potential with all of its content and multiple endings. Exploring the world around you can lead you on some epic adventures that keep you playing for hours on end. If you are a diehard RPG fan and can look past Avadon 3's downfalls then it may be something you want to pick up. To learn more, visit the official Avadon 3 website.
