Crash Wave Games' Iron Tides is a Viking simulator that involves many elements of survival and strategy. Gamers take on the role of a chieftain who has miraculously survived the anger of the gods. With the fury of the sea against you, gamers must figure out new ways to meet the challenges they face composed of epic turned-based battles.

Iron Tides is a basic tactics game where you make your way into uncharted seas to discover temples, gods, and other relentless Vikings. On your adventure you will get the opportunity to reunite your lost shield brothers while forming new alliances in the war against raiders and savages.

The game's story starts when the burnt remains of a longboat crash into the rocks near your coastal homeland. The vessel turns out to belong to the legendary Sigurd the Frostborn, who became lost at sea over hundred years ago. Your people discover there are many items on the boat that includes ornate weaponry, statues and tablets. It is up to you to take off into the west to find out where the vessel came from, but a storm pushes you north only weeks into the journey. You have lost most of your crew and you are charted so far off from your original course that you find yourself lost. As supplies dwindle, what remains of those who are still alive, start to whisper. It is up to you to land the ship before an uprising starts. However, everyone aboard the vessel is unaware of the chaos that is to come from the northmen.

Iron Tides is a vibrant world full of dynamic maps with a variety of battlefields. It is up to you how you play and your strategy will determine your fate. You can wield the power of the gods and utilize the game's intricate combat mechanics to defeat your foes and try to return home in one piece.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
