Skullgirls 2nd Encore Tournament Taking Place at Combo Breaker This Month

Skullgirls 2nd Encore, the fast-paced 2D fighting game featuring fierce warriors in an extraordinary Dark Deco world, will be showcased at Combo Breaker, one of the largest competitive fighting game conventions in America. The event takes place May 24-26 at the Mega Center at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Ill. Players can register to compete in a live Skullgirls tournament (on PlayStation®4), with a $4,000 pot bonus and Limited Edition copy of the game on Nintendo Switch for the winner, all provided by Skybound Games, Lab Zero Games, Autumn Games and Hidden Variable.

In addition, fans can play the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of Skullgirls 2nd Encore, as well as an exclusive sneak peek at an in-development version of the new Sync PvP feature for Skullgirls Mobile (featuring GGPO netcode), at the Skullgirls booth in the St. Charles Ballroom. Visitors can also get a chance to win a Razer Panthera Arcade Fight Stick, exclusive Skullgirls Mobile collector cards, brand-new high-resolution art prints, and other goodies at the booth.

During Combo Breaker, Skybound Games will re-open pre-order sales of the Skullgirls 2nd Encore Limited Edition Switch box, which includes the full game, 12” vinyl soundtrack, and Switch controller skin offer. Sales open 9:00am PT on May 24 and end 5:00pm PT on May 27.

Originally released in 2012, Skullgirls has amassed a dedicated fanbase across multiple platforms. Publisher Skybound Games will release Skullgirls 2nd Encore on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One for the first time later this year.
