Broadway’s Waitress Comes to VBC Concert Hall (Event Preview)

At the heart of WAITRESS is Jenna, a gifted pie maker trapped in a quiet, dead-end town and a loveless marriage. When a local baking contest promises a ticket to a fresh start and an unexpected spark arrives in the form of the town’s new doctor, Jenna is faced with a quiet reckoning… stay safe in the life she knows, or risk everything for the future she deserves.

Brought to life by an acclaimed, all-female creative team, featuring Grammy-nominated music by Sara Bareilles, a moving book by Jessie Nelson, and visionary direction by Diane Paulus. The production thrives on melodic, deeply intimate storytelling. The music gently lifts the drama, allowing every emotion room to breathe.

Expect sharp humor paired with quiet, vulnerable confessions. In this world, small details carry immense weight… a flour-dusted apron, a nervous laugh, a pie set down with tender care. The show seamlessly balances comforting warmth with genuine emotional stakes, ensuring Jenna’s journey feels completely earned.
