Activision and Infinity Ward have officially revealed a new digital pre-order incentive for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, introducing the Inner Circuit M4 Weapon Blueprint. Scheduled for global launch on Friday, October 23, 2026, the latest entry in the franchise is offering players early access to a customized M4 loadout built specifically for high-mobility, close-to-mid-range engagements, complete with a unique cosmetic twist tied to the twenty-fifth anniversary of Xbox.
The Inner Circuit Blueprint features a platform-specific cosmetic execution while maintaining completely identical gameplay performance across all systems. Players who pre-order digitally on Xbox Series X|S receive a translucent OG Green finish designed as a direct tribute to classic translucent Xbox hardware. This see-through shell exposes the rifle's internal components, turning the underlying machinery into part of the visual aesthetic. On all other supported platforms, including PlayStation 5, Steam, Battle.net, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox on PC, the weapon defaults to a standard mil-spec visual treatment.
Activision confirmed that these visual styles are tied directly to the platform on which the game is played rather than being user-selectable options. In cross-play matches, players view the weapon according to their own platform's rendering rules. For example, if a PC user plays alongside an Xbox Series X|S user, the PC player sees the mil-spec styling while the Xbox console player sees the anniversary skin on their screen. Despite these aesthetic differences, both versions perform identically in combat, utilizing the same underlying attachment set and handling attributes.
From a tactical perspective, the Inner Circuit M4 comes pre-configured with five specific attachments designed for aggressive positioning and swift handling. Mobility is boosted primarily by the 11 point 5 inch Shortline Barrel and the lightweight ZLR ASP 50 Stock, both of which improve sprint-to-fire times and general movement speed at the cost of long-range control. The FTAC Dominion Muzzle helps offset this added kick by expelling gases to reduce vertical and horizontal recoil, while the low-profile FSS Fireline Grip stabilizes sustained firing tracks. The build is rounded out by the SZ Prima-4 Dot Optic, which provides a clean sight picture for rapid target acquisition, making the blueprint an ideal choice for run-and-gun players or as a close-quarters backup paired with a sniper rifle.
Development for Modern Warfare 4 is led by Infinity Ward, with extensive support from specialized studios across Activision. The PC edition is being co-developed and optimized with Beenox for Battle.net, Steam, and Xbox on PC, while a native Nintendo Switch 2 version is being handled alongside Digital Legends. Additional support across design, technology, and quality assurance is provided by High Moon Studios, Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, Demonware, and Activision Shanghai. Digital pre-orders unlock the Inner Circuit blueprint for immediate use at launch on October 23, 2026, with the redemption window remaining active through October 23, 2027.
