Zombies have become an accepted part of today's pop culture phenomenon. Now let's count down some of our favorite zombie films!
10. Land of the Dead (2005) “Land of the Dead” is one of the many Romero zombie movies featured in my list. He is my favorite director of all time, and is the main reason for most of my zombie love. “Land of the Dead” is about a city full of post zombie apocalypse survivors that have walled themselves in for protection. This movie truly offers a unique take on what a zombie infested world could look like if rich and corrupt people controlled the living.

9. Doomsday (2008) “Doomsday” is set in a futuristic Europe. The deadly Reaper virus has killed off most of the world’s population and is now threatening to finish off the remaining survivors. The prime minister of Britain organizes a team and sends them on a mission to retrieve a cure from a scientist in Scotland. In order to attain the cure, the group must fight through two feuding clans and convince the leader of one of the groups to turn over the cure.

8. Shaun of the Dead (2004) What’s the only thing worse than having your girlfriend dump you? That would be trying to reconcile things and get back together while fighting off hordes of the undead. That is just what title character Shaun is trying to do in the British comedy/horror movie “Shaun of the Dead.” This movie is great, because it gives you rich and interesting characters, funny dialogue and scenes and it still keeps a sense of horror throughout the entirety of the film.

6. Dance of the Dead (2008) “Dance of the Dead” is about a group of nerdy teenagers from a small Georgia high school. They were not able to get dates to the prom, so instead they will have to defend the town from a zombie attack. Despite a simple and somewhat lame plot, “Dance of the Dead” is actually a great movie and is entertaining from start to finish.
5. 28 Weeks Later (2007) The setting of “28 Weeks Later” is similar to that of “Land of the Dead,” only this quarantined zone is located in Britain and is ran by the U.S. Army. A young girl, who unknowingly carries the zombie virus, starts an outbreak within the city. Chaos ensues and only a few people make it out of the city alive in the end.

2. Night of the Living Dead (1968) The original “Night of the Living Dead” is director George A. Romero’s first film and one of his best. Unlike many of the classic zombie movies, this movie does not feel outdated and is still a great watch. The story centers around a group of survivors that have barricaded themselves away from the undead army in a remote farmhouse. The majority of the movie takes place at this house and shows how the characters deal with the situation. The ending is classic and helps propel this movie near the top of my list.
