Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town (Video Game Review)

Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town is the newest hidden object title from publisher Alawar Entertainment, and as with previous titles from the company, this is one that is well worth checking out. The new game provides familiar gameplay and introduces new mechanics that keeps the game feeling refreshing in a genre that can feel repetitive from time to time. With nearly 100 locations, 13 NPCs, 28 hidden object scenes and plenty of exhilarating mini-games, Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town provides hours of fun at a low cost, and if you purchase the title now, you'll unlock additional Collector's Edition content to make the game even better.

Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town places you in control of a government agent named Clarissa who has been sent into the mysterious town of Fort Nightingale to investigate and learn why its citizens have become brain-dead shells of their former selves. Apparently, a television show is behind the strange phenomenon and the bizarre behavior is somehow tied to a missing nuclear bomb, but you'll have to play the game to learn more. One thing is for sure, playing great games such as Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town will prevent your children from ever becoming zombies like within this game's storyline! You'll find plenty of characters throughout the game that will aid you on your quest, and the game does a nice job of mixing up action, puzzles and dialogue to keep interested until the game's great ending. Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town is also one of the first games from Alawar to provide a horror storyline full of creepy moments, but it works well here to provide a scary twist on the hidden object genre.

Hidden object games are simple to understand, but they manage to provide a challenge for any gamer no matter how skilled they are in the unique genre. Scenes will be laid before you that first appear as simply a wonderful piece of artwork, but you'll soon notice plenty of items hidden within the scene, and it will be your job to find a list full of various items to unlock key items needed to complete puzzles once you've left the scene. Solving puzzles will typically not require much more than clicking interactive objects in the game's environments and combining them with helpful items from your inventory. Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town is challenging, but it is never overwhelming with great pacing throughout. You'll always find something fun to do in the town of Fort Nightingale, and the town looks great whether during or after the game's many cinematics.

All in all, Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town is a great game that fans of hidden object titles will love and instantly fell familiar with. With plenty of great new features, cinematics and mini-games, any gamer is sure to find something to enjoy about the game, and Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town's chilling storyline arrives just in time for Halloween! Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town features plenty of creepy chills from the frightening environments to the zombified children that seem out of a nightmarish Undead Children of the Corn. There's plenty to like about this game, and very little to dislike. So if you're looking for your hidden object fix, look no further than Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town.
