Xbox LIVE Gold members can now access the two games Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Case Zero for free beginning today and running through August 31, 2013 as part of the new Games with Gold program from Microsoft. Games with Gold allows Xbox LIVE Gold members to receive at least two free games for download each month, with this month's earlier release allowing players to explore the futuristic, open world of Crackdown for free.

Dead Rising 2 was the hit follow-up title for the Dead Rising franchise that introduced a new protagonist named Chuck Greene and cooperative gameplay for the first time in the series. Set in the fictional town of Fortune City, Dead Rising 2 challenged players to rescue survivors, battle against zombie hordes and psychopaths and test their luck at some exciting casino games. Players can also access DLC for Dead Rising 2 at half off the normal price.

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero was a prequel Xbox LIVE Arcade title set between the events of the original Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 that introduced players to Chuck Greene on a desperate attempt to escape with his daughter Katey to Fortune City. The game allows players to complete various mission and battle against zombies with combo weapons, and then, save the character progression that can be transferred into a new game session in Dead Rising 2. Both of these games will be available for free until August 31, 2013.
