The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is due out on April 17th, and players that preorder the upcoming release will get access to the game's closed beta. The preview build of the game is missing many key features that will likely make the game feel fresh and new as the second release in a scheduled trilogy of games rather than a repeat of the previous release in new locations. Players will spend anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour exploring the new game, completing a few side quests and battling against waves of baddies. What's available to play in the The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II beta build is fun and has enough humor to keep players interested in the game's storyline over the duration. Players won't find any multiplayer content, Runecrafting or some other new features that is supposed to be included in the full release, but The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II looks like a promising title that fans of the series will be itching to get their hands on next month.
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II places players in a new narrative set shortly after the events of the first game. Players will have the option to import their character from the original game or choose from a selection of pre-built character models. There are three classes available to play in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II that were also seen in the original for gamers that picked up the DLC that released later for that title. There is a typical monster hunting class, a Thaumaturge and Arcane Mechanic. The two new classes are the Thaumaturge, which equips players with a variety of different magic spells including an ability to shoot pillars of fire at enemies or utilize other elemental magic spells for great effect, and the Arcane Mechanic, who utilizes various machines to deal extra damage including automatic turrets and friendly robots that deal damage and distract enemies. All three classes seem pretty strong and should come with plenty of additional skills and abilities once the full game arrives.
The majority of gameplay in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II remains unchanged. Players will still encounters hordes of enemies in waves, and plenty of numbers start flying once damage is being dealt. The preview build of the game features a few fetch quests and other missions, but there is nothing too substantial revealed in the brief time with the game. Van Helsing and the ghostly Lady Katarina return as the game's stars, but there is a mysterious new masked figure that joins up with the duo to add an interesting new aspect to the game's storyline and help create some pretty funny situations for the game's protagonists. There is still plenty of humor present in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II, and fans of the original can look forward to plenty of laughs in the full version that is sure to offer even more funny moments for a game series that never takes itself too seriously.
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II has announced plenty of new features that will be included in the full game, but many of these aren't featured in the closed beta. Players will have an ability to summon a Chimera pet to help in battle, and the special character can level and evolve along with the player to get stronger and gain new attacks in combat. Additionally, players will find the all new Runecrafting system to create custom items from fragments and components found after killing enemies or in other randomized drop spots. There is also no multiplayer modes available to play currently, though the full game will both support up to eight players in versus multiplayer or up to four players in a cooperative campaign session.
If the original The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing was worth the $15 price tag, then The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is a $30 value that you can get for half off. The new game is said to be roughly twice the size of the original or more in many facets of gameplay including over 50 new quests, three multiplayer modes, over 1000 unique items and much. Our time with the preview build of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II was short, but we were able to take away that the same great gameplay of the original is still intact, and fans are in for a fun new storyline with the same protagonists from the first game as well. Fans can preorder the game now from developer NeoCore Games website and gain access to the game when it is later released on Steam while still enjoying the closed beta build of the game until then. Look for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II arriving in April 2014!
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is now available for preorder for $14.99 and is scheduled to release exclusively for Steam on April 17, 2014. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is not yet rated. For more information on the game, check out the official The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II website.
