Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance (Video Game Preview)

Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance is an upcoming release from developer and publisher Eutechnyx that is currently available on Steam in early access. The game continues the rich and interesting storyline for the Warhammer 40,000 universe with the return of some iconic characters. Players will find lane strategy gameplay in the upcoming release similar to what fans would expect to see in other noteworthy games such as the Plants vs. Zombies franchise but with characters directly inspired by the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. Some issues with the game available in the current early access build of the game keeps Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance from being one of the better games in the series, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that these issues will be addressed before the full launch of the game later in Spring 2014.

Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance features a classic matchup of space marines versus an ork faction. The two sides have very different classes, abilities and other unique traits, and players will be allowed to play as both sides and experience over 50 different missions for each in the full game's release. Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance features deep layers of strategy with an overall objective to capture any three lanes of the five lane maps to achieve a victory. Players will construct buildings on each lane and begin sending out waves of soldiers and vehicles to fight in specific lanes, while the enemy player does the same. There are different skill trees for each faction and various abilities that can be unlocked and upgraded through playing the game that helps make each match different from another.

Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance is available in early access, so players can purchase the game now for $10 on Steam and unlock the full version of the game when it becomes available later for free. Eutechnyx is allowing fans to interact with the developers of the game via forums for the game to help influence the final product. One of the biggest problems the game currently has is the slow gameplay with no option to speed up or slow down time during matches. Each game can drag on for far too long, while the game forces players to slowly watch meters for building or researching slowly fill or while watch the life meters of enemy troops slip away during a fight. The action in the game isn't terribly boring with some pretty cool interactions happening between troops in battle, but there isn't a lot of variety in attacks, and the patterns soon begin repeating to make matches seem to drag along even more slowly.

There is a lot of depth and strategy involved in the gameplay of Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance, and that isn't likely to change for the game's full release. Players can expect to learn how both sides work before heading into online matches with other players for the best chance at success. The game will support cross platform play with iOS and Android releases as well, so players can join matches against friends and other players across all platforms even if they own only one version of the game. The controls of Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance seem better suited for a game played on touchscreen, and the game is cheaper on iOS and Android as well, so we'd likely recommend this version for players that don't mind waiting a bit longer to try out the game. Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance won't be the best game released this month, but in its current build, it's a fun distraction that strategy enthusiasts can wrap themselves in for hours at a time, while fans of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise will have even more reasons to enjoy the release.

Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance is now available in early access exclusively for Steam and is scheduled for full release on April 3, 2014. Warhammer 40,000: Storm of Vengeance is not yet rated. Letter Lost: Postmarked Secrets - A cozy post office that hides rules and a deeper mystery. (Demo Preview)

Letter Lost drops you into the Kharnym Isle Post Office as its sole employee, tasked with the deceptively simple work of stamping, sorting, and dispatching the island’s mail. On the surface it’s a cozy workplace sim; polite locals, daily pay, and mandatory room and board that removes the hassle of commuting, but the office’s cheery routine is threaded with odd rules and quiet contradictions that quickly make the ordinary feel off‑kilter. What begins as a satisfying loop of weighing parcels and matching stamps soon becomes a game of attention: letters hide hints, patrons’ small talk slips into unsettling confessions, and management’s insistence that you never leave the premises reads less like policy and more like a warning. The demo covers your first four days on the job, teaching the systems while nudging you toward choices, obey protocol and keep the peace, or pry at the seams and uncover the post office’s darker purpose. Either way, those first shifts are a careful, uncanny invitat...
