Other Ocean and Majesco Entertainment Company have released Sharknado: The Video Game for iOS devices for $2.99. The game is based off the Sharknado: The Second One which just released from Syfy films. Fans of the film will get a real treat out of Sharknado: The Video Game because it allows you to step into the shoes of Fin who has been tasked with destroying a series of tornadoes infested with scary sharks that are damaging most of New York City.
Sharknado: The Video Game boots up on your iOS devices with the whirring sounds and visuals of being inside your very own tornado as sharks fly around you. The main menu has several options that includes buying and upgrading weapons, earn or purchase coins, use coins to buy chum, and even buy the "Ballad of Sharknado on iTunes.
Sharknado: The Video Game has you running down the streets of the City as Fin while moving around obstacles and sharks to avoid certain death. The controls are a little wonky and make it difficult to get out of an obstacle's way quickly and thus can lead to your gruesome demise. In order to save Fin's life each time, players will have to use a certain number of buckets of chum which can run out very quickly. The type of sharks you can kill throughout each level include Mako, Bull. Lemon, Hammerhead, Tiger, and Megamouth which all have multipliers to add more to your high-score. The shark's levels will also be displayed on your screen that shows how tough they are. If you run out of ways to continue playing then you can restart the level from the main menu with a fresh start.
As you gain new items and weapons, it becomes easier for Fin to run down the streets and take out sharks with broadswords, chainsaws and more. If you would like to reach higher ground then you will only need to bounce off the back of a Tiger Shark and you will be on your way. In order to avoid dying, you will continue to feed buckets of chum to sharks to progress so make sure you are fully stocked with this smelly appetizer. There are a ton of fun mini-games throughout Sharknado: The Video Game such as surfing flooding avenues and collecting trading cards within the game. Sharknado: The Video Game also teaches valuable information about sharks in the load windows to keep you informed while you wait for the next level of entertainment. In the end, Sharknado: The Video Game was an okay game with bright graphics, fun soundtrack and entertaining gameplay that suffered from wonky controls which made levels just a tad harder then they should be. However, Sharknado: The Video Game will give fans of the movies a great addition to their film-watching experience as they make their virtual way through the entertaining world of Sharknado.
Sharknado: The Video Game is now available for $2.99 for iOS devices via the App Store. Players interested in learning more, can visit the official Sharknado: The Video Game website.
