Raptr Announced New Contests and Events Using Instant Replay For Firefall, Smite, Rift, Defiance and Trion Worlds

Raptr has announced a series of new contests and events that use the Instant Replay feature enjoyed through Raptr that involves such games as Firefall, Smite and more. Read on to learn more.

Raptr, a leading online service for PC gamers, today announced a series of contests and other events utilizing the new Instant Replay feature in the Raptr software and involving some of the most popular and most anticipated PC games of the moment: Red 5 Studios’ Firefall®, Hi-Rez Studios’ Smite®, and Rift®, and Defiance®, both from Trion Worlds.

Details of each event can be found at www.Raptr.com but generally involve players saving short (typically, less than 30 seconds) Instant Replay clips highlighting various kinds of epic gameplay moments. Prizes for the best clips will be awarded in each event, ranging from in-game currency and items to hardware such as AMD graphics cards. All Instant Replay events are entirely free to enter, and participants can submit as many video clips as they like.

The calendar of events is as follows:
Smite: Currently underway, ending 9/22
Rift: Currently underway, ending 9/8
Firefall: Beginning 8/28, end date TBD
Defiance: Beginning 8/29, end date TBD

A similar Instant Replay competition for Battlefield™ 4 ended late last week and produced hundreds of entries, including the four winning submissions posted here: http://l.raptr.com/ztjwf.

Submissions are not limited to “greatest moves” but can also include weird, funny, or otherwise offbeat moments in players’ gaming sessions. The gameplay recording feature in Raptr is compatible with all recent graphics cards from both AMD and Nvidia, and uses hardware video encoding to ensure virtually no impact on system performance. The Instant Replay feature enables gamers to capture the best moments from any gaming session even after they’ve happened, via a user-configurable hotkey combination.

Since introducing the Instant Replay feature – complete with automated uploading and sharing functionality – in the update to its client software just three weeks ago, Raptr is seeing an average of 18,000 gameplay videos being created per day, and that figure continues to grow.

Master Your Aim: Why Every FPS Gamer Needs a Mouse Sensitivity Converter

Say goodbye to floaty aiming and missed flick shots. Here is how math—and a simple tool—can keep your muscle memory razor-sharp across every shooter you play. Whether you are dropping into Valorant for a quick competitive match, warming up in Counter-Strike 2 , or grinding ranked in Apex Legends , every FPS player shares a common goal: hitting shots with absolute precision . Yet, millions of gamers run into a frustrating wall every time they launch a new title—their crosshair feels floaty, sluggish, or way too fast. The problem isn't your mouse, your mousepad, or your skill. The problem is that in-game sensitivity numbers are completely different across game engines . When Your Brain Is Just Trying to Survive: What Prolonged Emotional Abuse, Betrayal, and Fear Do to You

There is something people often do not understand about prolonged emotional abuse: You do not simply “get over it.” You do not experience one hurtful event, cry about it, and wake up the next morning as the same person you were before. When someone repeatedly experiences betrayal, manipulation, control, isolation, emotional punishment, surveillance, instability, and fear, the effects can reach far beyond the relationship itself. They can change how a person thinks, sleeps, reacts, remembers, communicates, trusts, and even understands their own emotions. Sometimes, the person who has been hurt begins to wonder if they are the problem. Why am I crying so much? Why can't I calm down? Why do I keep checking? Why can't I just leave? Why do I feel exhausted all the time? Why do I keep trying to explain my pain to someone who keeps hurting me? The answer is often not that the person is weak, dramatic, or “crazy.” Sometimes, their brain is trying to survive. When Your Home...
