Skylanders Trap Team: Nightmare Express & Mirror of Mystery Adventure Packs Review

Skylanders Trap Team was easily among the best games we've played this year, and fans can read our Skylanders Trap Team review for Xbox One and for iOS to learn more about the game. One of the best games of the year continues to expand with the new releases of the Nightmare Express and Mirror of Mystery Adventure Packs. Each release comes packed with a new core toy, new location, two magic items, trading cards, QR codes and stickers. Each adventure pack also comes available with Legendary editions of each adventure pack with gold plated versions of figures for collectors that want the rarest items the franchise has to offer. Both adventures offer expansions for the game with new missions and unlockable items that can be traded or borrowed, and at least one of the new locations is truly memorable for fans of the series.

Nightmare Express sends players to a new area of the Skylands while Flynn recounts the mission for his upcoming autobiography. Players are told to keep the story from going too over the top due to Flynn's tendency to exaggerate the truth. Flynn helps keep the storyline for the new adventure funny with constant narration based on the story he is currently writing, but the actual gameplay isn't the most compelling the series has offered and the location is forgettable despite having a very interesting premise.

The Nightmare Express Adventure Pack also comes with a new Core character named Blades. The dragon is an Air elemental with sharp swords and edges all around his body allowing the character to land bladed melee attacks with his tails, wings and so on. The character is really interesting and looks awesome in combat. Additionally, players will get two new magic items with the Piggy Bank, which can be used to gain more gold, and the Hand of Fate, which can be summoned to take out a enemy at any time during the game. The new items and character for the Nightmare Express Adventure Pack are interesting to be sure, and fans of the series will still want to pick up the pack to experience the additional content for themselves.

The Mirror of Mystery warps players to an even more interesting new location. The mirrored version of Skylands has good guys being bad and vice-versa. Players will interact with friendly trolls and accept missions for the bad guys turned good, while many enemy mobs consist of the once friendly Mabu Warriors. The Mirror of Mystery storyline is easily among the best ever seen in the Skylanders series, and meeting up with the dark versions of longtime good guys for the series offer some of the most memorable experiences for the franchise to date.

The Mirror of Mystery Adventure Pack also comes with a Core character named Déjà Vu. Déjà Vu is a Magic character capable of manipulating time and space to outsmart enemies and deal damage unlike any other Skylanders warrior. The two magic items, Rocket Ram and Tiki Speaky, add additional value to the pack that is already one of the best ever released for the Skylanders series.

Skylanders Trap Team is already a fantastic game, and Nightmare Express and Mirror of Mystery Adventure Packs adds even more fun content to the title. Nightmare Express is worth the asking price for fans of the series, but Mirror of Mystery is easily the best of the two releases and is almost an essential addition for Skylanders Trap Team. Both Adventure Packs come packed with a core character, location, and magic items to make them nice additions to go along with the starter pack for Skylanders Trap Team and make great gifts for fans of the series. We had a blast with the new Adventure Packs and the game was even more immersive with additional characters like Tread Head, Hog Wild Fryno, Full Blast Jet-Vac, Fizzy Frenzy Pop Fizz, Bushwhack, Fist Bump, Head Rush, Lob-Star and Tread Head. The new Adventure Packs for Skylanders Trap Team are now in stores and just keep making the game that much better.

Skylanders Trap Team is now available from all major retailers and can be purchased for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo Wii, iOS and Nintendo 3DS. Jackson County Fair in Scottsboro, Alabama (Event Review)

The Jackson County Fair has invaded Scottsboro, Alabama for the week of October 7-11, 2014, but the event may be a waste of money for some.  The fair was the 79th annual showing and was presented by Kissel Entertainment. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun. The Jackson County Fair had over a dozen rides for all age groups. The fair's massive Ferris Wheel towered high in the sky and helped light up the event, while the Moby Dick ride and Gravitron also looked fearsome and stood tall even from a distance. Plenty of ...
