Shiftlings (Video Game Review)

Sierra and Rock Pocket Games have announced the release of Shiftlings for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The new title takes gamers on an out of this world adventure like never before with challenging gameplay mechanics and colorful visuals. Read on to learn more.

As soon as you load up Shiftlings, you will get a taste of the game's flavorable graphics and soundtrack adding an overall fun ambiance to the title. From the get go gamers will have the chance to start a new game or join someone else's--teaming up with a friend always make the challenge just a tad bit easier.

Shiftlings starts out with a hyper show from WePlanet Industries giving players a taste of the comedic storyline and upbeat characters to come. The fun truly starts when one of the characters decide to drink one of the fizziest pops on the planet before making their way to The Event Horizon.

Since our shiftlings are connected via an air hose--the challenge is to make your way through environments by shifting between the two characters to solve puzzles. How do you get through platforming obstacles with a bad case of gas and a bloated space suit? Now that is the real challenge.

The gameplay for Shiftlings is incredibly fun as you shift between the characters to manipulate objects and make your way through the various levels. However, the puzzles can become quite challenging and infuriating, especially in single player mode.

In the end, Shiftlings is a fun title that offers up challenging gameplay, beautifully vibrant graphics and an out-of-this-world soundtrack. While the game can become a bit tedious as you progress to more difficult puzzles--it is in Shiftling's co-op portion that the game truly shines.

Shiftlings is now available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC and can be purchased for $14.99. Shiftlings is rated T by the ESRB for Fantasy Violence & Suggestive Themes. For more information on the game, check out the official Shiftlings website.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
