Albino Lullaby (Video Game Review)

When you play a horror themed game, you expect it to focus a lot on stuff such as jump scares or gore, but some titles tend to build up on the psychological nightmare which can be, many times, just as scary and great to experience. This is exactly what Albino Lullaby does, it basically allows you to explore an interesting story filled with great characters and at the same time you have the opportunity to understand more about the way people think and how that can influence our life.

Gameplay

The exploration is created with perfection when it comes to this title, because you get to check out a really neat city filled with a whole bunch of unique locations that are enjoyable and pretty impressive as a whole. Yet the danger will be inside the homes and not outside, as you will see, and to be honest you will find that the scary stuff will just come to find you in a really scary, yet funny moment that’s quite enjoyable.

I found the story in this game to be very dark, but at the same time it does manage to show the humanity in us and the way we think about ourselves as well as the other people around us. While the game does focus quite a lot on the idea of guilt and prejudice, there are plenty of moments in which all of these intertwine in order to offer a truly remarkable, fun experience. On top of that, the entire experience is quite peculiar most of the time because you will need to uncover more and more clues just to get up to speed in regards to where and how you are, not to mention that it will be even harder to find a purpose in the game as well. Still, the challenge will mostly come from the idea of exploring the world and finding all of these clues that are placed in seemingly random places. The combat, however, seemed off at times and a little unbalanced which broke the immersion of the overall story and gameplay.

The VR integration makes this game even scarier than you would expect, and to be honest there’s a whole ton of fun to be had from the entire experience, which is really great as a whole.

Graphics

Sounds in this game are greatly chosen, but the graphics might not sound that appealing for most of us. Still, you have to take into account that the title is a niche, adventure game and from that alone you can understand why they went into this direction. Even so, the game more than manages to bring in front a really good set of graphics, although some of the persons that don’t play adventure games will find them peculiar at least in the beginning.

Conclusion

Despite the fact that Albino Lullaby is a niche title, it’s a well made one, and it does offer a great gameplay. The episodic manner in which it was released actually makes sense, but at the end of the day what matters the most is the ability to get a proper, fun horror game. I had fun with Albino Lullaby, even though it sometimes scared the hell out of me, and this clearly shows the value that this game can provide. Just give it a shot, you will love it guaranteed!

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
