Sonny Review (iOS)

Armor Games and Krin have released their new game Sonny for iOS devices.

The popular RPG series has been completely reimagined and made its way to iPad and iOS. Sonny offers players an all new adventure with challenging new gameplay containing some familiar faces. It is up to you to make your way across the post-apocalyptic world while trying to uncover the truth along the way. The turn-based combat keeps players on the edge of their seat and throws danger in their face at every turn.

Our character rises from the dead with his mind still intact but certain memories are missing. Sonny finds himself in a new world full of paramilitary enemies and monsters that stand his way to uncovering the truth of why he has been resurrected.

In order to save the world, gamers have to learn how to control crowds while investing and healing wisely. To advance through the scary new world, it is important to improve your skills and increase your speed to take down the ferocious beasts standing in your way. After escaping from the clutches of the Zombie Pest Control Incorporated troops, you discover a world full of other zombies like yourself and make new allies to help you on your mission to save the world.

Sonny's gameplay is entirely centered around its impressive combat where certain skills are necessary to complete battles--with a total of eight abilities to upgrade. Sonny is a very casual game which involves grinding enemies and browsing the shop between each level--with any story or dialogue taking place in between combat. It is a game that contains no fluff--it is completely centered around battles with no exploration whatsoever across eight worlds.

In the end, Sonny is a solid game that offers up a fun experience that is easy to jump into and play. If you like your RPG to have an enormous world to explore or have a slew of interesting characters to interact with, then Sonny might not be for you. However, if you are looking for a game that allows you to jump into battles for a few minutes at a time then Sonny is just that. To learn more, visit the official Sonny website.

The demo covers your first four days on the job, teaching the systems while nudging you toward choices, obey protocol and keep the peace, or pry at the seams and uncover the post office’s darker purpose.
