For 30 years, Galaxy of Lights has transformed Huntsville Botanical Garden into Rocket City’s most magical holiday destination. From November through December, the Garden lights up with twinkling arches, whimsical scenes, and inventive displays that stretch from the pathways to the night sky; inviting visitors to slow down, look up, and soak in the season.

Whether you prefer a leisurely, lantern‑lit walk, a cozy drive through illuminated vignettes, or a festive outing with family and your four‑legged friend, Galaxy of Lights offers framed moments that become lasting memories. New surprises and refreshed favorites ensure every visit feels both nostalgic and newly wondrous.

What to expect

Walking Nights: Meander under twinkling arches, pause for seasonal treats, and discover intimate vignettes designed for strolling and lingering. Timed, ticketed evenings: Nov 14–26, Nov 28–30; Dec 3–6; Dec 17–24, Dec 26–27.

Driving Nights: Enjoy the spectacle from the comfort and warmth of your vehicle as you cruise a sweeping, illuminated route. Ideal for larger groups, multigenerational outings, or anyone who prefers to take in the lights from their seat. Nights run Dec 7–16 and Dec 28–31; prices are per vehicle (vans for big groups available through McCurry Van & Car Rentals).

Galaxy Races: Add a little sparkle to your run: a certified 5K on Dec 1 and a festive 3K fun run on Dec 2, both routed through glowing displays for a truly lit race experience.

Evergreen Express Tram Tours (New): Climb aboard a guided, 45‑minute tram tour with festive storytelling and one complimentary hot chocolate from Fern & Feast Bistro. Tours depart on the half hour; seating is limited and includes one ADA‑designated space on select dates.

Dog Walking Nights: Make it a paw‑fect outing: bring your leash and four‑legged friend to one of six Pet Nights (Mondays and Tuesdays of Walking Night dates). Dogs are welcome on‑leash to stroll the displays, snap photos beneath the lights, and share the season’s magic with their humans. Advance dog admission is $5; $6 at the gate. Dog Nights: Nov 17–18, Nov 24–25, Dec 22–23.

Sensory Hours (New): A calmer, more comfortable option for guests with sensory sensitivities developed in partnership with Autism Support of Alabama. During Sensory Hours the lights remain bright while music and announcements are dialed down; a limited selection of sensory toys is available at the Admission Desk for checkout on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Dates: Nov 30 @ 4:30 PM and Dec 3 @ 4:30 PM.

Accessibility and accommodations: The new Evergreen Express Tram includes one ADA‑designated space and limited seating to support guests with mobility needs.
