PIONER Hits Major Milestone: "Depths of Tartarus" Update Now Live!

The Soviet-inspired post-apocalyptic world of PIONER just got a lot more dangerous. Following a massive Early Access launch this past December, GFA Games has officially dropped its first major content update: "Depths of Tartarus."

Since its debut, the MMO shooter has already seen players log over 2.3 million hours, and this update ensures those numbers will keep climbing. Whether you’re a PvE explorer or a PvP sweat, there is something new waiting for you in the anomalies.

What’s New in the Depths?

The "Depths of Tartarus" update expands the endgame and refines the core experience with several key additions:

  • New Raid: Crab Island – Gather your squad for a brutal multiplayer activity. You’ll square off against disgraced pirates and giant mutant crabs, culminating in several high-stakes boss fights.
  • New PvP Map: Dawn – A fresh battlefield for the 6v6 "Brawl" mode, offering new tactical opportunities for competitive players.
  • World Events – Participate in "Power of Earth" or hunt for the secret "A Gift from Heaven" event to snag elite gear like the M60, M60 Hybrid, and P90.
  • Economy Changes – New resource downgrading recipes have been added to traders, making crafting and progression much more flexible.
  • Polish & Fixes – A heavy dose of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes to keep the gameplay smooth.

Join the Frontline (at a Discount!)

To celebrate the launch of the update, PIONER is currently 20% off on Steam through February 16. With nearly 1 million quests already completed by the community, there’s never been a better time to jump in and start your journey through the island.

BioGamer Girl Pro Tip: If you're looking for that M60, keep your eyes peeled for those "A Gift from Heaven" world events—they are rare but absolutely worth the hunt!
