Demon Lord: Just A Block Launches This April With Tactical Roguelite Twist

Demon Lord: Just A Block is gearing up for its full PC release this April, bringing a clever blend of turn based strategy and real time action into the spotlight. Developed solo by YuWave and published by Skystone Games, this indie roguelite introduces a unique mechanic where the world only moves when you do, giving players full control over the pace and flow of combat.

Set to launch on April 26 via Steam, Demon Lord: Just A Block will be priced at $12.99 USD, with a 10 percent discount available during its first week. Ahead of release, the game has already built strong momentum thanks to a highly successful demo, boasting a 98 percent positive rating from over 40,000 players worldwide.

In Demon Lord: Just A Block, players take on the role of a decapitated Demon Lord, rising from defeat to reclaim a stolen throne. The journey centers around confronting the Black Dragon Queen Heyla while uncovering the mystery behind the Demon Lord’s downfall. Along the way, players reunite with allies and navigate a whimsical yet dangerous fantasy world.

The gameplay stands out through its hybrid design. Players can carefully plan movements in a tactical, step by step manner or dive into fast paced, reflex driven encounters. Combat revolves around positioning, timing, and reading enemy cues, allowing for both methodical strategies and high risk improvisation.

Customization plays a major role in the experience. The game features 14 weapon types, 10 archetypes, and over 200 abilities, creating thousands of possible builds. Whether wielding the Hero’s Greatsword, firing the Eyeball Blaster, or summoning swarms of bats, players have extensive freedom in shaping their playstyle.

Enemies range from classic fantasy creatures like slimes and giant spiders to more unusual threats, all encountered within grid based arenas. Boss battles introduce unique mechanics inspired by arcade puzzle design, ensuring that no two encounters feel the same.

Procedurally generated levels add further variety, with each run offering new layouts, surprises, and branching outcomes. Even seemingly harmless elements can turn dangerous, reinforcing the game’s emphasis on unpredictability and player awareness.

The game will be localized into ten languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, making it accessible to a global audience.

YuWave describes the project as a personal challenge, built entirely within a year by a single developer. The goal was to create something easy to pick up but deeply rewarding to master, combining simple controls with layered strategic depth.

With its distinctive mechanic, flexible combat system, and charming visual style, Demon Lord: Just A Block positions itself as a standout indie release for players looking for a fresh take on the roguelite genre.

An Intimate Evening with Damon Johnson at Back Forty Ballroom: A Perfect Night of Music and History in Fort Payne

There’s something special about seeing a great musician in a room that feels personal—where the stories are just as powerful as the songs. That’s exactly what the audience experienced on March 7, 2026 at 7:30 PM during “An Evening with Brother Cane’s Damon Johnson” at Back Forty Ballroom in downtown Fort Payne, Alabama. The venue itself sets the tone before the first note is even played. Back Forty Ballroom is tucked inside the beautifully restored W.B. Davis Hosiery Mill, a building that has stood in Fort Payne since 1889. Instead of stripping away the building’s history, the restoration celebrates it. Original brick walls, aged wooden beams, and warm ambient lighting create an atmosphere that feels both historic and welcoming. Walking into the ballroom feels like stepping into a piece of Alabama’s past—yet everything about the space is perfectly suited for modern events. The open layout, soft glow of string lights, and rustic textures make it ideal for weddings, concerts, and gathe...
