Halo: Combat Evolved, the first title in one of the most popular and influential game franchises of all-time, is being remade this year and is scheduled to release on November 15, 2011, ten years after the original was released as a launch title for the original Xbox. The Halo remake is being created by game developers Saber Interactive, the same company that brought the world Timeshift. The Halo remake will be packaged with many new tweaks and innovations. For one, the graphics will be completely redone and will support both 1080i resolution and 3D picture quality. And although multiplayer has not been completely explained, they are saying that the Halo remake will support online co-op. The Halo remake will also feature updated controls, similar to the button layout of Halo: Reach.
I personally cannot wait for this to be released. The Halo franchise is easily within my top ten favorite gaming franchises ever, and Halo: Combat Evolved featured the best campaign storyline of the entire series. I haven't played Halo: Combat Evolved since it was a new game and have never owned it, but I have considered buying it numerous times just to relive the storyline of this classic game. I really hope the remake will also feature online versus multiplayer, but I will not be disappointed if it doesn't since the main draw of Halo: Combat Evolved is the campaign. At least, I know President Obama will also be excited for this re-release...
