New Yankee in King Arthur's Court (Video Game Review)

In New Yankee in King Arthur's Court, you play as a farmer turned knight when you are struck by a lightning bolt and transported back through time to the days of King Arthur. When you don some royal knight armor, you are immediately put to work by your King to fetch him some Living Water. As you progress through the game, you perform a number of other silly quests at the request of the King, but all you really want is to make it back to your farm and loving wife. The charming story doesn't really go very deep in meaning, but it keeps the game a fun ride from start to finish. The game plays similar to a Farmville and tower defense hybrid.
You control a group of workers and knights who must harvest food, gold, wood and other supplies from each stage in order to meet each stage's prerequisite challenges. The tougher stages will task you with similar objectives, but now, you will have to contend with goblins and other monsters that will steal your gold and workers and otherwise halt your progress. Playing the game is as simple as managing your limited amount of workers to complete objectives before the timer runs out. You'll click on interactive objects within each stage that will produce different results once your worker has completed their job. You can build up to eight different buildings that each give you different benefits and can be upgraded for even more perks.

You'll also find mana scattered throughout stages that allow you to cast spells that will help you tremendously in completing stages quickly. New Yankee in King Arthur's Court is a very nice looking game featuring some really cute graphics, and the game's HUD ensures that you always know what you need to do in each stage. While there is no real voice acting in the game, the sound effects work well for helping you to keep track of your workers' progress while always reminding you the danger that enemies present you with.

The game's soundtrack is nice as well. While it's never too apparent over the other sounds in the game, it still fits in the game nicely to create an overall great presentation. This is a game that anyone can pick up and enjoy. The game offers up some humorous characters, enemies and dialogue between stages. The gameplay is never dull, and the later stages will keep you on your toes the entire time you're playing. New Yankee in King Arthur's Court is a great collaboration of two popular genres that will ensure you have a fun time with the game. So, why are you still reading this when you should be playing it? New Yankee in King Arthur's Court released on March 15, 2012.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
