Pocket God Pygmies Coming to Stores Everywhere

The Pygmies of Pocket God will soon jump from the screen of your iOS device and onto store shelves. Bolt Creative, developer of the Pocket God franchise, has today announced a deal with Funko to create vinyl figurine and plushy versions of the ever-popular and never-dying Pygmies. These new lines of Pocket God merchandise is expected to hit stores this September.

New Pocket God collectibles and toys will include:
  • 5-inch Collector Vinyl Figurines –These game-accurate figurines will be available in four different Pygmy styles: Happy Pygmy, Warrior Pygmy, Zombie Pgymy, and the Moon Witch.
  • Stylized Plushies –These stylized and stuffed Pygmies will come in the same four styles as the Collector Vinyl Figurines.
  • 2.5-inch Blind Box Figurines –These smaller vinyl figurines will come in 16 unique characters of varying rarity. Each figurine will be packaged in an art collector blind box – fans will not know which Pygmy they’ll get until they open them!
“Our fans are constantly submitting their latest self-made toy, drawing, or animation”, said Jean Mathews, head of business development for Bolt Creative.  “Pocket God apparel launched in top retailers like JC Penny but it did not quench the thirst for more Pocket God toys. Funko seemed like the perfect solution with the Pocket God brand adding to their hit portfolio of Marvel, DC Comics, and Lucas Arts figurines.”

Starting out on the iPhone in 2009, Pocket God has since had hyper growth with multiple games and onto other platforms including all iOS devices, Android, and social. The franchise also includes a wildly successful digital comic series.

“The Funko team are big fans of Pocket God and had a blast designing and building the models and prototypes for our upcoming lines of Pocket God vinyl figurines and plushies,” said Brian Mariotti, President of Funko. “Pocket God represents our first foray into blind box figurines and we can’t wait to share these with the community.”

“This deal is our latest milestone for the Pocket God franchise”, Jean remarked, “in our aggressive 2012 plans to continue fulfilling the pygmy craze”.

Jackson County Fair in Scottsboro, Alabama (Event Review)

The Jackson County Fair has invaded Scottsboro, Alabama for the week of October 7-11, 2014, but the event may be a waste of money for some.  The fair was the 79th annual showing and was presented by Kissel Entertainment. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun. The Jackson County Fair had over a dozen rides for all age groups. The fair's massive Ferris Wheel towered high in the sky and helped light up the event, while the Moby Dick ride and Gravitron also looked fearsome and stood tall even from a distance. Plenty of ...
