Grand Theft Auto V: What We Have Learned So Far

Developer and publisher Rockstar Games just recently wrapped up a week full of screenshot releases for their highly anticipated title Grand Theft Auto V and has promised to return in the next few weeks to give us even more content to drool over. This is great news for fans looking forward to the game’s release, but for now, we want to take a look back at the released content so far and make some foolish assumptions as to what these screenshots and trailer could mean for the upcoming title. Make fun of us in the comments section of the page, give us your own predictions below or run out and preorder your copy of the game based on our bold predictions, but most of all, enjoy the article!

Everyone can collectively breathe a sigh of relief, because whores are indeed back in Grand Theft Auto V. One of the hottest topics in all of gaming is including sexual themes in video games and how much is too much. The Grand Theft Auto series will continue to live on in infamy as one of the first to approach prostitutes so casually in their games and for the inclusion of the notorious Hot Coffee mod in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Either way, nothing beats refilling your life meter to full capacity with a little back alley loving only to refill your wallet moments later by beating the lady to death after she exits your car. Of course, we don’t want the government thinking we condone this type of behavior, so take the above comments with a grain of salt…unless there’s a trophy to be unlocked!

The Grand Theft Auto V screenshots has made it clear that the game will feature the most extensive modes of transportation since the series went to San Andreas the first time. Old classics like the Infernus and the Cheeta make their return in the game. You’ll also find a nifty little biplane that doubles as a crop duster in at least one mission. You’ll also take to the air in helicopters and a fighter jet at some point in the game. It also seems pretty obvious boats will return in the new game, as one of the recent screenshots clearly shows someone navigating the nearby water on a shiny new jet ski, so let’s hope our protagonist can swim! To top off transportation in Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar has brought back the bicycle from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to make this highly anticipated game sound even better.

The leisure set of screenshots told us a few things about the upcoming title too. For starters, dirt bikes will be back in the game, and in at least one mission, you’re going to have to race against other competitors to progress through the game. Some form of parachuting will be present in the game as well. We all know that Grand Theft Auto IV’s Ballad of Gay Tony added an all new base jumping game mechanic, but surely, Grand Theft Auto V will allow you to take your parachute with you wherever you go including into aerial vehicles for some fun aerial acrobatics before releasing your ‘chute. A tennis playing screenshot has also been shown off. Grand Theft Auto IV featured plenty of mini-games including bowling meaning there is a real chance we could see some sort of tennis mini-game included in Grand Theft Auto V. Whether or not the mini-game will be fun for more than getting a trophy is a whole other question however.

To get one of the best looks at Grand Theft Auto V, you need to see the trailer that Rockstar released for the game late last year. In this trailer, it seems we’ll be controlling an older gentleman who just moved to the new city and is looking to make it big. We also see that the classic Grand Theft Auto humor has returned just by reading several of the signs and posters shown throughout the game’s trailer. One of the missions shown early in the trailer features our new protagonist and what we can assume is a gang he will work with for a short time during the game getting ready to clean house in true Grand Theft Auto style. It seems there will be no shortage of heavy weaponry in the game, and later, a for sale sign is being posted in the front yard of a home all but ensuring you’ll also be able to accumulate property in the game once again. This may mean you can sell back your property after making repairs or if the economy starts hurting your wallet too much too. The trailer ends with a personal plane flying off into the sunset adding yet another plane to the list of aerial vehicles we can expect to see in the game. Whether these guesses will come true or if we’re simply reading too much into a few pictures and a cinematic trailer remain to be seen, but at least, we know the game is in the hands of a great developer who is sure to produce another highly successful title for the fans.
