Rocksmith Bass Expansion Hitting Consoles on August 14th

Ubisoft has revealed that Rocksmith Bass Expansion, a content add-on for Rocksmith, will be available on August 14, 2012 on the Xbox 360 console and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system for $29.99.

With the Rocksmith Bass Expansion, all 53 of the original on-disc tracks that feature bass, as well as any previous DLC purchased, are automatically updated and instantly available to play. Along with the ability to play the bass lines of favorite songs, bassists of all experience levels can improve their skills like 2-finger plucking, slapping, and popping with dedicated bass technique challenges, tutorial videos and mini-games. Players can even use any 6-string guitar to emulate a 4-string bass. Tracking learning has never been easier as bass progression is tracked separately from guitar progression. Simply put, nothing compares to playing a real bass guitar.

Rocksmith is the first and only video game where players can plug any real guitar or bass with a standard 1/4” input jack into an Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system or PC and play through an in-depth library of music including everything from the latest hits to classic rock songs.

Rocksmith features gameplay that automatically adjusts to the player’s skill level, and will engage experienced musicians as well as those who are picking up a guitar for the first time. Players will be able to choose from actual lead, rhythm, and combo guitar compositions, inspiring players to perform songs after the game is turned off.
