The Top 5 Most Memorable Games For Any Horror Fan

There are certain games out there that are so terrifying that they will not soon be forgotten. These games haunt our nightmares long after we put down the controller. This article will count down some of the scariest games that are memorable to almost any horror fan out there.

5. Resident Evil (Capcom)
Resident Evil was one of the very first horror games that I picked up and was never able to put back down. The game made its debut on PlayStation in 1996 and the franchise exploded from there. You step into the shoes of a member of the special law enforcement task force and soon things go to hell. Some of the most horrifying creatures appeared in Resident Evil including flesh-eating zombies, zombie dogs and man-eating crows!

4. Silent Hill (Konami)
Silent Hill was released in 1999 and was one of the eeriest games due to the environmental conditions. Battling through fog and darkness, players really were afraid of what was around that next corner. The game introduces the character of Harry Mason who is searching for his missing daughter in the series multiverse. The alternative dimensions really brought the horror to life in Silent Hill!

3. F.E.A.R. (Vivendi Universal)
F.E.A.R. was released in 2005 and the storyline revolved around a supernatural phenomenon. The special forces team F.E.A.R. is called in to contain the event. The game was inspired by Japanese horror and the ghostly little Alma definitely scared the crap out of us!

2. Dead Space (Electronic Arts)
Dead Space was released in 2008, and put the player in control of engineer Isaac Clarke. In order to survive, Isaac must make his way through a mining ship infested with reanimated and mutated corpses called Necromorphs. One of the most interesting elements of the game is that all information was relayed through holographic projections. This part of the game made you feel even more alone in a horrifying environment.

1. BioShock (2K Games)
BioShock was released in 2007 and has sold over 9 million copies to date. Players take control of a place crash survivor Jack who must survive the horrors of Rapture. We are introduced to a 1960s world that is fueled by plasmids. Little Sisters and Big Daddies were created to meet the demand for the need of plasmid. Players enter a horrifying world were society has broken down and now all that remains are the evil abominations that destroyed it.
