Tryst Launches Free to Play Multiplayer

Call it free to play, lite, or demo, Tryst now has a restricted version available to download from Steam for free! Enjoy unlimited access to the Human race with no restrictions on units or buildings in multiplayer mode. While only one map is available to host via the free version, you may join a full version player on any map in the game. Upgrade and recieve the Zali race and the single player campaign, as well as the ability to host multiplayer matches with every map.

Why the Zali? The Zali are what makes Tryst unique. Where the Humans play a more traditional role of recruting or building units and having them gain experience in battle, the Zali gain new units by merging them together or ressurrecting the defeated units from the scraps they leave behind. Merging, bringing your units back to life, and devoting themselves to specific paths on their shrines turn each Zali unit into potentially anything.

Tryst is a competitive RTS in which players experience reactive environmental dangers, a breadth of unique units and most importantly theA.R.M. - the Augmentation Research Mechanism. This last feature allows the player to equip units with specific load-outs to change their natural advantages and disadvantages.

Two races battle for supremacy, first is the Humans, which play like traditional RTS style races with several main buildings and a broad series of expansion options. The Zali, on the other hand, are completely unique, and expand by converting their own units into more powerful and specialized ones. They have the option of either a broad expansion with many flexible options or a very narrow one, making super specialized units.

These features are built on the classic RTS archetypes and topped off with fast paced play that awards aggressive grabs for power. In Tryst you’ll be charging for resource points and blasting your enemies far more often than sitting idle building a super fortress. Each race plays completely differently, allowing for a variety of complex strategies that are unique to each individual player style.
