Halloween is almost here! This spooktacular holiday is perfect for catching up on your favorite scary movies and games. Turn down the lights and put some of these treats into your console! Can you survive the night with these deadly titles? Read on to check out ten video games and movies that you have to check out this Halloween!

10. The Walking Dead
Telltale Games' The Walking Dead has been an emotional roller-coaster of frights, tears and horror. If you have not tried out the episodic series or missed an episode then Halloween is the perfect time to catch up. Players will jump into the shoes of Lee as he tries to make it through a horrific zombie apocalypse in one piece!

9. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
The classic film Nightmare Before Christmas has always been a perfect film for Halloween fun. The story centers around Jack Skellington who is the king of Halloweentown. He stumbles across Christmas Town which is doesn't quite understand. The adventure has Jack trying to to get his resident ghouls, bats and goblins to turn Halloweentown into Christmas. Actor Chris Sarandon plays the voice of Jack Skellington and really brings the character to life. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a flick that the whole family can enjoy!

8. Dead Space 2
Dead Space 3 will release next year, and we will once again get to step into the chaos of this survival horror title. While it seems 2013 will never get here--we can still enjoy everything that Dead Space 2 has to offer. Players take on the role of protagonist Isaac Clarke's and resume his fight against a brand new Necromorph outbreak on the space city Sprawl. Necromorphs are organisms that mutate and take control of human bodies. These creatures are super terrifying and will have you jumping out of your seat the whole game!

7. Candyman (1992)
Treats were never as deadly than in Candyman. The film stars Tony Todd as the demented "Candyman" who was a slave murdered for falling in love with a white woman. To punish him for getting the white woman pregnant, they cut off his hand and replace it with a hook. Then the townsfolk smear honey all over him and bees sting him to death. The story plays out much like that of "Bloody Mary" where after speaking Candyman's name in the mirror 5 times--he appears with a vengeance! A classic horror film that never gets old and is a perfect film to add to your collection on All Hallow's Eve.

6. Resident Evil 6
While Resident Evil 6 isn't as scary as the earlier games in the series--it still delivers enough horror to pick it up this Halloween season. Nothing screams Halloween like Resident Evil with its zombies and mutated creatures. Gather up a few friends and play through the terrifying adventure with Leon, Ada, Chris and many more. For an extra challenge, play through Agent Mode where you can go into the user's campaigns and play as the enemy! Now the shoe is on the other foot in this undead nightmare.

5. Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Where would we be without today's modern adaptations of the undead? We can thank George Romero and John Russo for the horrifying nightmares that we suffer from today due to their 1968 film release of Night of the Living Dead. The story has two siblings whose visit to their mother's grave has them running for their lives. The film was one of the earlier adaptations of the slow-moving zombies that we know today.

4. Call of Duty: Black Ops
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is right around the corner--so now is the perfect time to get ready. Halloween is the perfect time to play some Zombie Mode! Survive the zombie hordes alone or with friends. The survival gameplay mode will give plenty of frights--grab four friends and survive the relentless waves of undead!

3. ZombieLand (2009)
If you would like a nice break from all the horror this Halloween then pick up Zombieland. A film that pokes fun at the zombie apocalypse and is a fun movie to watch with friends while you chow down on candied treats! Watch as a shy nerd really finds himself and opens up when the planet becomes infested with the undead. Tons of fun can be had in Zombieland and we find that even with the end of the world its still the small things that count---like Twinkies!

2. Left 4 Dead 2
Left 4 Dead 2 was the sequel to the original Left 4 Dead which has players teaming up with other survivors to battle the undead in the dirty south. The first person shooter will have players traveling through cities, swamps and cemeteries packed full of deadly terror. Fans will use guns and melee weapons to fend off the infected as they try to escape with their lives. It is the perfect chance to try out the Cold Stream DLC which has five zombie filled campaigns that are sure to scare the pants off you!

1. Trick 'r Treat (2007)
Trick 'r Treat was a terrifying Halloween film that came out in 2007. The film really made you think twice about the holiday we celebrate with costumes and treats. A day when evil can really step out from behind the darkness and blend right in. Trick 'r Treat is a collection of stories that mixes the fun and terrifying for a treat like none other. Many will notice that the film has the chills like something straight out of an episode of Creepshow or Tales from the Crypt. There are many twists and turns such as a high school teacher who moonlights as a serial killer or even cruel Halloween pranks that turn deadly!
